How to Maximize Google's Search to Find the Best Holiday Deals

Google is launching a set of new tools and features to help holiday shoppers find and score the best deals this season.

In a blog post, the tech giant introduced a dedicated tab for deals in Search where users can find sale products all in one place. 

Here, marked-down products and promotions from Google's merchants can be found according to categories such as apparel, electronics and more. 

On the deals page, users can scroll through holiday promotions and markdowns from Google's merchants by category. 

To access the new deals page, users can search "shop deals" where they can search for items, brands, or specific categories according to their holiday needs. 

Get Discount Codes Through Google Chrome

The tech giant has also made it easier for users to find discount codes straight from their Chrome browser. 

Opening a new tab in Chrome on the desktop shows users products they recently viewed on websites in their "Resume browsing" card. Additionally, Chrome will inform them whether a promotion for their viewed products is active. 

On the other hand, merchants may manage where users can find their deals in their Merchant Center settings. 

Find Out Where Item Prices Are Headed

Google is introducing a feature called "Shopping insights" in the Chrome browser on the desktop.

Users can find this feature in the address bar when they visit a shopping site.

Once clicked, the section shows information about the product's typical price range and its price history over the last 90 days, helping users make smarter purchases and predict whether prices will go down at a later time. 

You Can Also Track Prices Easier

Google is introducing an option for users to set price drop alerts.

When they browse a product on Search using Chrome on their mobile devices, they will have the option to click on the bell icon next to the product's name.

This will enable them to receive email and push notifications whenever the product's price decreases from various online retailers.

Finally, users can conveniently save products in a designated Shopping list folder within Chrome on their desktop and receive updates on price tracking when such information is accessible.
