Ford has teamed up with legendary French footballer Eric Cantona for its new campaign introducing its new electric vehicle (EV).
The automobile giant is shining the spotlight on its all-electric Capri, a remake of the classic car model "rewired for the EV generation." The classic sports coupe maintains the design features that made the model iconic across generations, including its body shape, the style of the highlights, and the appearance of the rear.
However, the new EV has evolved with a "modern purpose" in mind, making it a true sports car for the family that's fast-charging and contains more than 570 liters of boot space.
Beyond its aesthetic features, the all-new Capri is bringing state-of-the-art features that enhance the customers' experience.
These include automated lane changes and extra caution for cyclists when opening doors, keeping passengers as well as those surrounding the car safe. Overall, it's an EV that celebrates the past, and at the same time reinvents the future.
"Some say legends are born. Others say legends are made... This Capri is a remarkable reinterpretation of the classic. A sports coupe for the family. But, more importantly, it's all-electric. That is the future. Legends apologize for nothing," Cantona shared in a press release.
Two Legends
In line with the prestige and luxurious appeal of the Capri, Ford has enlisted the former Manchester United forward to reintroduce the car. Set inside an empty warehouse, Cantona tells the viewers that "the legend is back."

Dynamic shots of the sleek and stylish EV grace the viewers, as the football legend interacts with it. He then faces a security camera and asks the viewers: "Who is this man?" In the end, Cantona gets in the car and says his final words before closing the advert: "Je suis Capri."
