Home Run Inn Pizza is making its biggest television investment in 103 years as it seeks more frozen-pizza buyers nationwide.
The campaign, created with food and beverage marketing agency quench, features Chicago blues musician "Billy Blues" Fruteland Jackson.
The TV spots also mark the first work from Home Run Inn's strategic partnership with quench.
"We know we have a great product and a story that resonates with consumers," CEO Dan Costello said in the press release.
"The opportunity now is making sure more people know about it as we expand into new markets."
It follows the company's decision to close three restaurants in March 2025 and focus on six remaining locations.
These closures were part of a stated plan to invest in innovation and strengthen the brand over time.
The TV push puts this ambition behind a story that four generations of the Home Run Inn family have spent a over century building.
Home Run Inn Takes Chicago Blues to TV
The spots feature the award-winning guitarist and singer-songwriter, a Chicago blues figure and a Home Run Inn fan.
They draw on the brand's history, linking its restaurant roots with the frozen pizzas now sold in grocery stores nationwide.
Home Run Inn began as a Chicago tavern in 1923 and has served its signature tavern-style pizza for more than 75 years.
The family started par-baking and freezing their pizzas for local grocery stores in the late 1950s.
They eventually expanded the business into national retail.
Chuck Meehan, quench's chief creative officer, said Jackson was a natural fit because he is both a blues legend and a genuine fan of the brand.
"You can't manufacture that kind of connection," Meehan told DesignRush.
"He brings so much personality to the work that our job was really just to give him room to do his thing."
Online video, connected TV, streaming audio, out-of-home, and display ads support the campaign, with additional branding work expected in early 2027.
The mix gives Home Run Inn several ways to introduce its Chicago heritage as it seeks retail growth in new markets.
Frozen Pizza Market Set to Add $2.46B by 2030
Home Run Inn ranked No. 10 among frozen pizza brands by purchase share on Instacart from July 2024 through June 2025.
Instacart's data also placed Home Run Inn fourth among the platform's fastest-growing frozen pizza brands.
The rankings suggest that Home Run Inn has momentum to support its expansion.
The U.S. frozen pizza market is projected to grow 5.3% from 2025 to 2030, adding $2.46 billion in market value, according to Technavio.
Home Run Inn's business challenge is turning a recognizable regional brand identity into repeat purchases nationally.

Three lessons stand out for food and beverage marketers.
- Heritage gives shoppers a reason to care. Brands should connect their history to a product people can buy today to encourage trial.
- Retail growth requires brand awareness. Companies should invest in campaigns that introduce their products to new markets to increase consideration.
- Cultural partnerships need credibility. Teams should work with people who have a genuine connection to the brand to make its story more specific.
Home Run Inn has real restaurant history and signs of retail demand.
But the campaign's value will depend on whether awareness translates into sustained purchases.
