Samsung announced on Thursday a groundbreaking partnership with Instacart, enabling its Bespoke smart fridges to pinpoint low-stock items, turning them into your personal grocery assistants.
As part of the brand's Bespoke Family Hub, the innovation is powered by AI and Vision recognition technology, enabling it to recommend grocery items that users can buy directly through the Instacart app.
“AI Vision Inside” works seamlessly with the Samsung Food app and Instacart’s product-matching API, streamlining meal planning and food inventory management.
The fridges are equipped with either a 32-inch or 9-inch screen and can identify up to 37 food items using a camera positioned above the door, tracking when items are added or removed.

Samsung Electronics EVP and Head of the Consumer Experience Team for the Digital Appliances Business Jeong Seung Moon shared how the tech giant is enabling a more convenient home experience for users:
“The combination of Samsung’s key technology and Instacart’s outstanding online grocery shopping platform will be a great example of how partnership can create a new level of convenience.”
Meanwhile, Daniel Danker, chief product officer at Instacart, expressed excitement about what the partnership brings to its users:
“We’ve all dreamt of a refrigerator that could replenish itself, and now thanks to this partnership with Samsung, that’s no longer the stuff of science fiction.
With the Instacart Developer Platform that will power this seamless integration, Samsung Bespoke refrigerator owners will be able to place grocery orders and easily restock empty fridge shelves via same-day delivery through Instacart from their favorite local grocery retailers.”

According to Samsung, the system can automatically adjust your shopping list when items are purchased or used in a recipe, reducing waste and ensuring a well-stocked fridge.
This shows how artificial intelligence is becoming a bigger part of our daily lives, making even simple tasks like grocery shopping easier.
AI companies are driving innovations like this, and Samsung’s partnership with Instacart is a prime example of how technology is transforming everyday routines.
AI-Driven Grocery Integration
Samsung will unveil its new 9-inch screen model of the Bespoke fridge, alongside updates to existing features, at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025.
The integration underscores the growing trend of smart home devices catering to consumer convenience and task efficiency.
Although Samsung’s previous standalone Instacart app mysteriously disappeared from older models earlier this year, the new integration promises deeper functionality.
How smoothly this transition will work in practice remains to be seen, but it’s a step forward in making kitchen technology an essential part of the connected home ecosystem.

The new AI-driven grocery integration will roll out to compatible Samsung smart fridges later this year via a firmware update.
With smart home innovation accelerating, Samsung is positioning itself as a leader in all things AI-powered.
Last year, Samsung released a campaign in collaboration with Pixar's "Inside Out 2," showcasing its Bespoke AI Laundry Combo.
