Microsoft has begun deploying a fix to resolve issues affecting Outlook and Teams after users across Europe reported difficulties accessing email and attachments starting Monday morning.
The problems, linked to a recent change in Microsoft’s Exchange Online platform, disrupted services for many users, including the inability to send attachments, connect to servers, or log in.
Over 80% of the complaints revolved around accessing Outlook through the web.
Microsoft’s 365 Status team confirmed on X that the problematic change was reversed and a fix is being rolled out. The company is also manually restarting a subset of affected machines.
Our targeted restarts are progressing slower than anticipated for the majority of affected users. An ETA for resolution will be provided as soon as available. Additional details can be found in the admin center under MO941162.

Microsoft Exchange Online is a critical tool for businesses, combining email, contacts, and calendars in a cloud-based platform.
The disruption highlights the importance of IT support companies to ensure timely problem-solving and regular maintenance of operations.
Previous 365 Outages
Last September 12, thousands of Microsoft 365 users also reported outages, saying they were unable to sign into their email accounts or access other applications.
Downdetector estimated over 24,000 users were affected during the peak of the disruption.
Microsoft resolved the issue quickly after identifying it was caused by a change in a third-party ISP’s managed environment.
Following the ISP's reversal of the change, services began to recover.
Despite the recent outages, Microsoft continues to attract more business users, particularly with its Copilot tool.
