93% of business leaders believe that trust directly improves the bottom line, according to PwC’s 2024 Trust Survey.

At the same time, 94% admit they struggle to build it. And while 86% of executives say they “highly trust” their employees, only 60% of employees actually feel that trust.

That gap says it all. In 2025, success won’t come from flashy showreels or the latest tools alone.

It will come from how well studios show up as real partners: with clarity, accountability, and mutual respect at the core of every collaboration.

In this conversation with DesignRush, Bryan Engram, CEO and founder of Brazen Animation, and Yuriy Polyashko, CEO and animation producer at Darvideo Animation Studio, share how they’ve built lasting relationships with both indie creators and global brands.

They reveal why alignment, confidence, and responsibility are the real differentiators when choosing an animation partner.

Bryan Engram CEO/CCO & Founder, Brazen Animation

Bryan leads the creative vision at Brazen Animation. Before co-founding the studio, he worked at Reel FX in Dallas and went on to direct and supervise projects ranging from commercials and music videos to full-length animated films.

Yuriy Polyashko CEO & Animation Producer, Darvideo Animation Studio

Yuriy is a Ukrainian-born producer and founder of Darvideo, now based in Miami. With 15+ years of experience, he has led global projects for TED, UNICEF, USAID, and BBC, and continues to champion new storytelling and AI in animation.

Start With Trust to Build the Foundation

Partnerships in animation succeed when they’re built on respect, clarity, and shared values.

Both Engram and Polyashko agree: without trust, even the most exciting creative work struggles to land.

For Engram, trust shows up in the earliest conversations.

“If that’s in place, you almost immediately find a shorthand in the first few conversations,” he says.

Polyashko sees the same principle in big-brand work. While executives believe building trust improves the bottom line, many still struggle to achieve it.

His experience confirms that communication and consistency are what close the gap.

“They want stable, clear, and high-quality communication at every stage, from the very first introduction or quotation to the final delivery,” he says.

When that expectation is met, clients feel confident and projects move forward smoothly.

Win Trust With Preparation and Proof

Creative ambition matters, but for large clients, proof is what seals the deal. Engram recalls pitching The Green Ember game.

Polyashko points out that sometimes luck plays a role.

“Sometimes you land a big brand client simply because of timing.”

But more often, it comes down to confidence and commitment.

“They look for the ‘spark,’ the energy in your eyes, the seriousness in your planning, and the strength in your judgments,” he says.

Make Your Signature Clear and Consistent

Brazen has built a name around a unique blend of 2D and 3D animation, and Engram makes sure that identity is unmistakable.

“It’s our signature, we do both with excellence and high quality standards. We make sure that message is crystal clear through curated reels, conference appearances, and our ongoing social presence,” he says.

Darvideo takes a different approach by adapting to how big clients work.

“Every large client wants to feel that we’ve customized our pipeline to match their way of working,” Polyashko says.

That might mean changing approval structures, speeding up feedback cycles, or even overhauling workflows to meet tight deadlines.

Treat Partners Like an Extension of Your Team

Both leaders emphasize that the best relationships go beyond “supplier” dynamics.

“The best collaborations feel like they’re an extension of our team,” Engram says.

Polyashko has learned the same lesson over years of working with major brands.

Build Trust by Doing What You Say

At the end of the day, the partnerships that last are built on reliability. For Engram, the secret is simple: deliver on promises.

“That reliability is what transforms a single project into a long-term partnership,” he explains.

For Polyashko, it’s about listening more than selling.

“Now, I focus on the client’s task… Instead of talking about how great our videos are, I show them how we can solve their problem,” he adds.

This client-first mindset turns projects into ongoing relationships.

What Marketers Can Take Away

Lasting partnerships in animation don’t come from flashy reels or one-off wins. They’re built on trust, consistency, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Studios that listen first, adapt quickly, and deliver reliably turn projects into long-term collaborations.
