Sean Astin, famous for his role as Samwise Gamgee in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is taking fans back to Middle-earth in an exclusive new LEGO mini-film.
The actor joins the LEGO Group to celebrate the launch of the LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: The Shire set — a 2,017-piece diorama capturing the beauty of Hobbiton.
Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the collaboration reimagines one of the most beloved settings from the trilogy: Bilbo Baggins' eleventy-first birthday celebration.

The set encompasses an intricate recreation of Bag End, complete with its signature round green door and fully detailed interior, alongside the lively festival scene.
Nine iconic minifigures — including Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, Sam, and Rosie Cotton — round out the experience.
Builders can also reveal The One Ring by transforming a burning letter, make Bilbo vanish with a hidden mechanism, and swap out minifigure heads to recreate the dragon firework scene with Merry and Pippin.
Additional details include Gandalf's cart, the Party Tree, a pavilion, fireworks, and Bilbo's book.

In a press release, Astin highlighted all the charms of the new set.
"Not all those who wander are lost... especially when traveling through the astonishing detail of the Shire made out of LEGO bricks!
From the smallest hobbit-hole to the grandest fireworks, building this set brought back so many fond memories of Middle-earth."
Following previous The Lord of the Rings LEGO releases — Barad-dûr and Rivendell — this latest set completes a trilogy of collector's builds.
LEGO continues to master the art of collector-focused brand storytelling, making its Lord of the Rings sets more enticing than the average build.
By tapping into the emotional connection fans have with Middle-earth, LEGO strengthens its position in the adult collector market while celebrating the enduring magic of Tolkien's world.
A Collectible Journey to Middle-earth
To mark the set launch, the LEGO Group produced a mini-film starring Astin as an homage to the epic storytelling of The Lord of the Rings.
With nods to the trilogy's signature cross-cutting sequences, the film follows Astin as he guides viewers through the stunning LEGO-built Shire.
LEGO recreations of iconic movie scenes, such as Gandalf's arrival at The Shire and Merry and Pippin's firework fiasco, populate the ad.
Scenes featuring LEGO versions of Mordor and The Fellowship of the Ring also take viewers on a trip down memory lane.
The spot ends with Astin putting down a minifigure of Samwise Gamgee as he gives the camera a knowing smile.

The Shire set launches exclusively for LEGO Insiders on April 2, before becoming available to all on April 5 via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.
As a bonus, fans who purchase the set between April 2-8 will receive a Sméagol & Déagol minibuild as a Gift with Purchase, while supplies last.
Earlier this month, LEGO made a bombshell announcement with the reveal of a long-awaited Pokémon collaboration slated for 2026.
