PlayStation and LeBron James Team Up to Make Limited Edition PS5 Accessories

Global gaming company PlayStation and NBA superstar LeBron James have teamed up to make limited edition PS5 accessories co-designed by James himself.  

The new passion project consists of a limited edition console cover and DualSense wireless controller that feature “personal imagery and adages that have been meaningful throughout Lebron’s journey as a game-changing athlete.”  

According to a blog post, it also marks the first collaboration between the company and the superstar.

The collab’s main appeal lies in its unique product design. Each accessory is adorned with colorful crown icons and some of James’ most memorable phrases, including “Nothing is given. Everything is earned,” “Build. Uplift. Empower,” and “I promise,” which is also the name of a program of the star’s charity organization. 

The Lebron James Limited Edition PS5 Accessories will hit stores on July 27 in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and other countries, but will be available for pre-order starting June 29. The custom console cover will retail for $64.99, and the controller for $79.99.  

The collaboration was first announced last March as part of the PlayStation Playmakers program, where the gaming company partners with celebrities in a series of initiatives. 

"It's still crazy to think a kid from Akron who grew up playing games is getting to create something like this,” shared James. 

“Designing a console cover and controller with PlayStation that gives a nod to my I Promise students and where we come from is a pretty cool thing. I hope it's something that continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they have a little fun finding meaning in every detail," the NBA star added.
