Rockstar Games may be about to sell the beer its characters have been drinking for years.

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) has spent nearly two decades poking fun at beer ads with in-game parody brands.

Now some of these jokes could end up in real coolers across Miami, where Rockstar Games has spent weeks dressing the city up as Vice City.

Fan site iGrandTheftAuto spotted labels for three GTA VI beers in a public federal database.

The U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau runs the database and has already signed off on each label.

Tripping Animals Brewing, a brewery in Doral, Florida, a short drive from Miami, filed all three.

The new addition is "No Mames Vice City," a 6% ABV lager.

Its 6% strength matches the No Mames lager that Tripping Animals already sells, which hints at a familiar recipe in new GTA VI packaging.

The label shows a stylized dog in sunglasses and a gold Vice City chain against a pink-and-purple sunset.

GTA VI branding on the label ties the design to Rockstar’s upcoming release. The bureau approved it on October 9, 2026.

The other two labels are Patriot and Pißwasser, beers that longtime players will recognize from earlier GTA games.

Pißwasser was approved on September 29, and Patriot followed on October 15.

IGN reports that both come in at 4.2% ABV, having the same strength as Bud Light.

Neither Rockstar Games nor Tripping Animals has publicly confirmed a collaboration, so the details of any commercial release remain unclear.

Possible formats include bar exclusives around Miami or online sales, but neither has been confirmed.

GTA VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Up to $5 Million in Local GTA VI Ads

The labels arrive in a city where Rockstar has planted much of its marketing rollout.

IGN reports that residents have spotted in-universe ads for GTA brands around Miami, along with a Vice City blimp flying over Florida.

The Miami Heat’s arena is also being redone for a Vice City-themed NBA game in November.

The largest fixture is the "Welcome to Vice City" sign on the Kaseya Center.

The display covers about 4,690 square feet and rests on roughly 21,000 pounds of new structural steel.

Rockstar is paying Miami-Dade County $975,000 to keep the signage on the arena roof.

The deal runs for a year or through the Heat’s final home game on April 11, 2027, whichever comes later.

As a media buy, it puts the game’s branding in front of arena broadcasts and passengers flying into Miami.

Miami Beach approved its own deal worth up to $4 million, which brings Rockstar's two deals to nearly $5 million combined.

The campaign runs from October 15 through December 31, with discreet Vice City and VI branding on Boucher Brothers beach chairs and umbrellas.

Music has been another major piece of the rollout.

Spotify put GTA VI artwork on billboards in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami in mid-September.

The billboards went up a day after a wave of artists posted matching GTA VI-styled artwork on their own accounts.

Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, and PinkPantheress were among the names behind the posts.

Rockstar has since announced "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album," a 34-track collection made with Atlantic Records that arrives November 19.

Singles are already out from Scott, Yung Lean, Fred again., Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, and Keith Richards.

The $124.98 liquid-filled vinyl edition sold out shortly after pre-orders opened, which gave fans a collectible to buy before the game ships.

If you asked us, a limited beer run would fit right into this Miami campaign, especially with the Heat’s Vice City night set for November 18.

A can of beer sits in a fan’s fridge long after the arena sign comes down, which makes it the stickiest piece of Rockstar’s experiential marketing.

18 Years of Parody Beers

Rockstar Games is giving its in-game brands a place in the real world as the countdown to November 19 shrinks.

Earlier in the rollout, the second GTA VI trailer drew more than 475 million views across platforms in 24 hours.

Rockstar shared the figure with The Hollywood Reporter, noting it topped the 365 million views cited for the "Deadpool & Wolverine" trailer.

The beer labels give this same audience something new to talk about.

Instead of paying for more awareness, Rockstar can use the hype it already has to sell physical goods, and it would be selling into a big merch market.

Licensing International’s 2026 Global Licensing Industry Study found that global licensed retail sales rose 5.45% in 2025 to $389.8 billion.

The character and entertainment segment reached $161.8 billion, with video games among the drivers.

Brands preparing to debut a new product can take a few lessons from the labels:

  • Mine your own history for products: Names an audience already knows from years of content give a new product instant recognition on the shelf.
  • Pick a local partner that matches your push: A company based in the same city as your biggest campaign gives a limited run a ready-made home market.
  • Let public filings do some of the teasing: Fan sites comb label and trademark databases, so every approval date hands followers a fresh timeline to track.

Fictional brands with years of screen time already have name recognition, so a co-branding deal with one skips the hardest part of a product launch.

Our Take: Do Easter Eggs and Real Products Sell Games?

Real-world versions of in-game products give the most obsessive fans a prize for studying every trailer frame.

We’d say they sell games mostly to the fans who were already buying, which still matters since these fans talk newcomers into it.

Patriot’s beer truck and Pißwasser Nein branding both showed up in the first GTA VI trailer, so a real can confirms what fans paused to spot.

Casual players will walk right past it, since a fake beer only sells when you already get the joke.

Bethesda pulled this off for Fallout 4 in 2015, when Jones Soda bottled what was widely reported as its berry lemonade as Nuka-Cola Quantum.

Target's first batch sold out within minutes of the game's November 10 launch.

No Mames Vice City looks like the same trick, so any cans that reach Miami shelves probably won’t last long, especially with all the hype and the long wait.
