A year after headlining PlayStation's global ad campaign, Lisa now has a controller with her name on it.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled the "DualSense Wireless Controller – Lisa Limited Edition."

It continues a collaboration that began last summer when the BLACKPINK member appeared in a PS5 spot playing Astro Bot, Helldivers 2 and Tekken 8.

The second push builds directly on the earlier campaign, which introduced Lisa as PlayStation's global ambassador, moving the partnership from advertising into product.

This time, it moves from the screen to the store shelves, joined by a full merchandise collection designed with Lisa herself.

Nancy Kim, SIE's senior director of integrated marketing for special projects and licensed merchandise retail marketing, said the two companies worked closely from the start.

They folded in details that held personal meaning for Lisa, and this focus on meaningful celebrity marketing shows up across the whole rollout.

For Lisa, the appeal was personal.

"I had a lot of fun adding in little details that I knew my fans would notice, and I wanted the fans to have something they can connect with," she said of designing the collection.

Every Design Choice Has Meaning

The controller's touch pad carries Lisa's bangs and eyes, alongside her signature stars and "LL" lettering.

These details are then set against a Chroma Pearl colorway, which the star picked as her personal favorite.

The DualSense Wireless Controller – Lisa Limited Edition goes up for pre-order October 2 at 10:00 AM local time, with a wider release October 30.

The merchandise collection pushes that same product design across apparel, hats, tote bags, keychains, stickers, and a DualSense carrying case, split into two limited assortments.

Both the controller and select merchandise are capped at limited runs, available while supplies last across every region opening pre-orders.

A second wave lands October 23 on Lisa's official Amazon store and in the Amazon Music app, timed directly on the day her new EP, "Press Play" arrives.

The rollout comes as Lisa's solo career reaches new heights, from an acting debut in "The White Lotus" to a headlining run on BLACKPINK's world tour this year.

The timing puts a music release, a hardware drop, and a retail launch inside one calendar week, giving fans three separate reasons to return to the collaboration over one October rollout.

Where Lisa's Fans and Gamers Overlap

Lisa is Instagram's most-followed K-pop idol, with more than 105 million followers as of 2026.

It's a bigger single-platform reach than most gaming publishers command on their own channels.

Console gaming, meanwhile, still lags on gender balance.

Newzoo's Global Gamer Study found76% of women worldwide had played a game in the past six months, yet only 28% of women play on console, compared with 40% of men.

Mobile is where women already show up in force, with 62% playing there versus 60% of men, per the same study.

This is exactly what a console-specific product with Lisa's name on it is positioned to close.

Three takeaways from PlayStation and Lisa's expanded partnership stand out:

  • A hardware drop reaches people an ad campaign alone can't achieve: Brands courting new demographics should consider awareness campaigns with an actual purchasable product.
  • Console adoption among women remains uneven across platforms: Brands with strong female audiences on mobile or social should design offerings that pull that audience toward underused platforms like console.
  • Stacking release dates in one week compounds attention: Marketers running multi-part collaborations should sequence music, hardware, and retail drops close together to keep an audience engaged at every touchpoint.

Overall, the campaign works in both the gaming platform's and the artist's favor.

PlayStation can use Lisa's platform-agnostic fan base to nudge more of her audience toward console.

On the other hand, Lisa can convert a devoted, cross-platform following into a hardware collector base.

Our Take: What Happens After the Drop Sells Out?

Limited-run collectibles create one spike of demand, then go quiet.

We think it's up to the merchandise collection of shirts and tote bags to keep Lisa's audience checking back once the limited run of the controller ends.

The controller is a novelty item, and the single drop is a moment, but the clothing line with staggered pre-order waves and a second retail launch is closer to a habit.

If the DualSense sells out in a day and nobody's talking about the collab in November, PlayStation will have proven the star matters more than the shelf.
