Google is taking AI-powered search to the next level with two major updates: an upgraded AI Overview powered by Gemini 2.0 and new experimental feature AI Mode.

Instead of just summarizing search results, AI Mode breaks down intricate topics, compares options, and provides structured insights — saving time and effort.

According to Google’s recent announcement, AI Mode expands what AI Overviews can do by helping users ask deeper questions and get more useful responses.

AI Mode uses a technique called “query fan-out.”

It runs multiple related searches at the same time, pulling information from various sources, analyzing it, and delivering a well-rounded response.

Google is ensuring AI Mode doesn’t just generate answers but also connects users with high-quality web content.
