Nothing's Phone 2 is finally here, currently available for preorder and set to be released directly to the public on July 17.
With a price point of $599, significantly higher than Nothing’s first phone released last year, audiences are eager to see what’s in store for Phone 2’s feature updates.
Product Design
Nothing’s Phone 2 maintains the brand’s customer-favorite selling point as an impeccably stylish gadget available at mid-range pricing.
Like Phone 1, it will be available in two colors and is slightly transparent, revealing the inner workings of the smartphone.
The phone’s Glyph interface, one of the most innovative recent features in smartphone product design, is receiving a slight update with the new model. There are now more available lighting zones and a feature titled “Essential Glyph Notifications” allows users to customize how they will use the interface.
Users can now adjust the lighting zones depending on which contact calls and what alarm they set, as well as create ringtones using custom lighting effects. Nothing has announced that app developers will also have access to how the light strip is used within their apps.

The company furthered its tech-savvy design with highly customizable layout options, monochrome icons, and shortcuts to groups and folder icons. While these features may not affect the phone’s tech quality, they are certainly a way to attract potential customers that value good product design.
Tech Performance
Nothing’s Phone 2 boasts certain technical changes that may improve the phone’s performance.
It is now powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which according to the tech gadget brand improves the phone’s performance by 80% compared to its first offering. Additionally, the phone’s battery has improved. It is now 4.700mAh, a 200mAh increase.
Phone 2 also comes with a slightly bigger screen size and a higher brightness level.
On the other hand, the new smartphone’s camera has not undergone any major changes. The main and ultrawide cameras remain at 50 megapixels, while the selfie camera has increased from 16 megapixels to 32.
Despite the minimal changes in tech-based performance, Nothing has announced three years of Android updates and four years of security updates, which could hold more surprises for users.
As established tech brands move into the high-end smartphone market, such as Xioami's release of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, Nothing’s smartphones are a refreshing choice in the mid-range market.
