Speaqua Sound tapped legendary rock band Rolling Stones for an epic New York-inspired campaign introducing its new speakers.
Helmed together with production company Los York, the latest initiative is marked by a hero film seen through the eyes of a young skateboarder as he spends his day going around the streets of the city that never sleeps.
Set to the tune of "Angry," the single from Rolling Stones' latest studio album "Hackney Diamonds," the spot hopes to capture the timeless appeal of the rock band's music, shared director Gabriel Novis.
"We shot it in 16mm film with one of my favourite cameras, the Aaton, in order to recreate the handheld feel of City of God, my all-time favourite film, and to make it feel as if it could have been shot in the '80s or '90s.
Also, I wanted the spot to feel iconic, like the Stones themselves, one of my favourite bands. It was an amazing job to work on," Novis added.

This latest effort hopes to promote the sound company's new Stones collection, where "the rebellious spirit of rock and roll meets Speaqua’s cutting-edge, adventure-ready design."
Using the Cruiser H2.0, the Barnacle Pro 2.0, and Barnacle Vibe 3.0 as the canvas for the Rolling Stones-branded designs, the new speakers are a celebration of the iconic band's global influence and Speaqua's mission to "bring more music to more places."
Notably, the waterproof speakers boast special features including storage space that can handle up to 2,000 songs, a mounting station, and a handy bottle opener.
By teaming up with a renowned figure in the music world, Speaqua is cementing itself as a force to be reckoned with in the industry — a sound (pun intended) brand marketing strategy that would bring it to new heights.
A Day with Stones and Speaqua
The 90-second cinematic spot kickstarts with a young man cruising through the streets of New York on his skateboard with a slice of pizza in his hand.
The rest of the advert plays off like a slice-of-life montage following the skateboarder's day.
At night, he visits the record store to browse through some Rolling Stones CDs.

In one of the racks, he stumbles upon one of the Speaqua x Rolling Stones speakers, which boasts the band's iconic tongue and lip logo.
As he brings it closer to his ear, he is taken through a musical journey courtesy of the Stones. Flashbacks of live performances and glimpses of the limited-edition speakers grace the viewers, as "Angry" plays in the background.
The commercial ends with the guy waiting at the subway as a train speeds by him.
It is not uncommon for speaker brands to use big celebrities to advertise their products. Earlier this year, Beats by Dr Dre reintroduced the Beats Pill speakers with a spot starring LeBron James.
