New Nike Spot Features Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Vini Jr.

A new spot from Nike highlights the humble beginnings of today's football legends in the making, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Vini Jr.

The two-minute "Awaken Your Madness" ad kickstarts with footage of Mbappé, Haaland, and Vini Jr in their childhood days as they develop a love for the sport. 

Viewers are then transported to a futuristic present, where Haaland is seen watching home videos from a neon-lit lab. 

Elsewhere, Vini Jr. awakens in a hibernation pod while Mbappé is seen on a misty football field all by himself.

The three then partake in several sci-fi-inspired sequences, with Vini doing drills wearing a transparent gas mask, Haaland writing down football formulas in a classroom, and Mbappé conquering ball launchers on the pitch.

The professional athletes are then transported to a place called "madness," greeted by a robed man descending from the sky — football legend Ronaldinho

"You've unlocked the crazy that all the greats have. Then play with madness when the world is watching," he tells the three.

As Ronaldinho lets out a maniacal laugh, a montage of real-life football plays takes over the screens, showing viewers how this madness unfolds on the ground, closing the spot.

Nike Unveils Mad Brilliance Pack

Though not an official sponsor, the sports brand launched its spot in anticipation of the upcoming EURO 2024 tournament, which officially kicks off this weekend.

The short film, which stars what many believe are today's "faces of football," received praise from netizens online, with many calling them "more than wonderful."

In a separate spot, Mbappé and Vini Jr, joined by players Phil Foden, Rodrygo, Cole Palmer, Eduardo Camavinga, Nathan Ake, and Bruno Fernandes, share their thoughts on the new models, complimenting its standout features. 

The commercial follows Nike's most recent release of the Mad Brilliance Pack, which features its flagship models Air Zoom Mercurial, Phantom, and Tiempo in a unified colorway.
