Creator marketing is gaining an agentic layer, and Meta is putting the permission step inside the ad account.
The company is adding Partnership Ads to its Meta Ads MCP connector
AI agents can now create ads and manage creator permissions.
Meta announced the update during IAB's first Global Creator Week as part of a wider expansion of its Creator Marketing Hub, APIs, and AI tools.
Creator deals still depend on human decisions around rates, deliverables, and relationships.
But now one of the administrative steps can be handled by an agent.
"Meta's MCP has been an unlock for our team, cutting down the manual work in reporting and campaign management," Jack Johnston, VP of innovation and growth at Tinuiti, said in Meta's announcement.
Meta is making creator campaigns easier to run inside social media marketing, while the commercial terms still sit with people.
Meta Puts Creator Permissions Into Ad Buying
Meta's Creator Marketing Hub launches globally with content-level permissions, expiration dates, discovery filters, messaging, and one-click Partnership Ad creation.
The new MCP connection adds another route.
It allows advertisers and agencies to give AI agents instructions to create Partnership Ads and manage creator permissions.
"We're excited to see Partnership Ads get incorporated directly into the Meta MCP, where we can build, test, and optimize these campaigns even faster," Johnston added.
Meta says the features will roll out through the rest of 2026, so what a brand sees depends on its market and ad account.
The permission controls tie access to specific content and time windows.
An agent can handle the operational step of granting or managing access.
Teams still retain the human work of deciding which creators to hire and what these partnerships cost.
Meta is effectively making creator rights an addressable field inside the ad workflow.
Creator Ad Spend Nears $44B as AI Takes On More Work
U.S. creator ad spend was projected to hit $37 billion in 2025, up 26% year over year, and nearly four times faster than total media growth.
IAB now puts 2026 spend at $44 billion.
The growth makes operational automation more consequential as creator work becomes a larger media function.
Nearly half of creator ad buyers, 48%, now consider creators a "must buy."
Three in four creator ad buyers use or plan to use AI for marketing tasks, mainly content editing, creator briefs, and personalization.
Automation is reaching workflow tasks before it touches relationship decisions.

The numbers point to a creator market where more spend and more AI activity will require cleaner operational systems.
- Administrative work can be automated without automating trust. Teams should reserve human judgment for rates, fit, deliverables, and relationship terms to protect creator partnerships.
- Permissions can become structured campaign inputs. Teams should define access windows and content rights clearly to reduce delays during activation.
- Creator buying needs operational consistency as spend grows. Agencies should connect discovery, permissions, activation, and reporting to make larger programs easier to manage.
Creator marketing can run smoother when software handles repetitive steps, and people retain control over the commercial relationship.
Our Take: What Happens When AI Gets Creator Access?
Meta's MCP connector gives agents write access, so software can change live campaign settings on its own.
We think that the risk sits with the creator, who signs a deal with a brand and ends up inside a system the brand's AI agent operates.
Permission windows and content-level rights read like clean data fields, and an AI agent will treat them that way.
The actual deal was worked out over DMs, where the rate, the exclusivity, and the goodwill never made it into the record.
IAB also found that 95% of advertisers already have concerns about AI in creator marketing, and the top worry is losing the human connection.
Meta has now given these same advertisers a faster way to act without a real person giving the green light.
We should expect creators to start asking for audit logs and approval rights in their contracts.
And the agencies that can show a record of what their AI agents touched will sign the better talent.
Creator partnerships now involve media buying, rights management, and creator operations in the same workflow.
