Mobile language tutor app Duolingo released a viral clip on social media earlier this week, parodying the intense drama and distinct cinematography of a certain cooking-centric show.
Coinciding with the third season release of the hit FX drama series "The Bear," the short video continues the wacky adventures of the internet-famous Duolingo owl, Duo.
Duo has had an internet presence of sorts for several years now, after thousands of netizens created memes portraying the adorable green bird as a threatening presence whenever Duolingo users would stop using the app, thus breaking their "streaks."

Duolingo eventually appropriated Duo's fanmade personality, leading to skits such as this one in which Duo plays a demanding and abusive head chef who torments his kitchen staff when they don't speak Italian.
The app also released two other videos on its platforms, one of which shows kitchen staff comedically shouting "yes, chef!" every time Duo would hit something with his spoon.

Duolingo's long string of hilarious social promotions also includes other references to "Inside Out 2," anime, and popular meme formats.
At present, Duolingo's latest videos with "The Bear" have garnered a total of over 800,000 views on TikTok and more than 240,000 likes on Instagram.
As of January 2024, Duolingo is the world's most-used language-learning app.
The Bear and The Owl
Duolingo's recent viral clips channel many aspects of "The Bear," referencing chaos menus, locked freezers, fear as the secret ingredient, and professional kitchen lingo.
Released in time for the show's latest season premiere, the brand continues to cause laughs with its timely marketing efforts.

The app is generally known for its successful marketing and social media campaigns, relying on an unforced approach to the internet and referential humor to appeal to an audience familiar with popular culture.
A major campaign from last year saw the owl appear in theater ads designed after The Barbie Movie.
