Comedian and talk show legend Conan O'Brien has just launched the newest episode of "Clueless Gamer," his first in about three years.
Created in partnership with Samsung, the new feature under the star's Team Coco label sees the Irishman back in the gaming chair to offer commentary on the hottest video games.
This time, Conan and his longtime collaborator Aaron Bleyaert play the newly-released director's cut of the modern classic video game "Death Stranding," created by beloved Japanese video game auteur Hideo Kojima.
The two reprise a remote segment from 2019 when Conan still hosted a show on TBS, which saw the talk show visit the Kojima Productions studio while on a trip to Tokyo.
Among other highlights, the visit resulted in Kojima promising to put the comedian in a game after scanning his likeness with a 3D scanner.
O'Brien did eventually appear in the game with a hilarious cameo.
The talk show host and Samsung have worked together on numerous occasions, with the electronics giant even launching a Conan TV channel exclusively on its TVs.
So far, the two have fostered a long-standing brand partnership that has positively impacted both parties.
Back in the Chair
According to O'Brien, the new "Clueless Gamer" episode comes after years of insistent fan demand.
The 12-minute feature documents the pair getting up to their classic shenanigans, with Bleyaert trying his best to recap the game's story as O'Brien comically falls asleep.
Throughout the video, O'Brien's killer commentary turns the otherwise solemn atmosphere of the game into an endless supply of hilarious jokes, as he uses the controller to pilot Sam Porter Bridges, the main character played by Norman Reedus.
Notably, the video also promotes Samsung's brand-new OLED S95D TV, which features AI upscaling, an OLED anti-glare screen, and immersive Dolby Atmos sound.
As a surprise, the video also features a guest appearance from Kojima himself, who pops in via a video call to instruct Conan on how to find his own character in the game.
It ends with O'Brien asking Kojima to make him a hero in the game's sequel, to which the director agrees.
In another gaming comeback, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched a trailer last month featuring the return of The Replacer.
