The integration of AI has dramatically transformed the landscape of film and art in recent years, changing creative processes, enhancing visual effects, and offering innovative ways to engage audiences.
Ellenor Argyropoulos, a director and producer in the LA-based creative agency Mermaid Toast, is one of the artists making waves in AI-powered art.
Last week, she dropped the teaser for a film made entirely of AI tools, which she says has been in the works for the past six months.
The sci-fi epic "Echoes of Sand And Stone," which she has labeled as the "most realistic AI trailer yet," was created entirely using the generative AI platforms MidJourney, Runway Gen-2, Stable Diffusion, HeyGen, and PikaLabs.
"For me, it's about diving deep into technology out of sheer curiosity and harnessing it to visualize grand ideas—ideas that, as of now, remain just too grand for me to make," she wrote in an Instagram post.

Argyropoulos began exploring the world of AI-generated art last December, generating thousands of images and building a whole world.
"As a filmmaker, I wanted this to feel extremely cinematic. Pretty chuffed with what I was able to achieve," she shared.
A follow-up trailer to the Echoes of Sand and Stone teaser will drop in the coming weeks.
No Limits for Creating Sci-Fi Movies
While sci-fi and historical epics usually require big-budget productions to achieve realistic visuals, generative AI may soon change this.
Earlier this month, artist Nicolas Neubert dropped the trailer for "Genesis" - a fictional film the artist made entirely from Midjourney and Runway in under seven hours.
"With technology that allows everyone to generate high-quality content, the magic will happen through those who know how to stitch pieces together," he explained at the time.
