Humane is recalling 10,500 charging case accessories for its AI Pin, an AI-powered multi-modal wearable device due to a Lithium Battery fire risk.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should immediately stop using the charging case and contact Humane for a full refund or free replacement.
The advisory comes after Humane received one report of a charging case overheating and melting while charging. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
Last year, a report revealed that the Humane AI Pin will hit the market at $699. However, prices currently start at $499 with CosmOS 1.2 on Humane’s website.

Ai Pin is just better.
Starting at $499 and available now with CosmOS 1.2 on https://t.co/2IpJBYCG3Npic.twitter.com/Td6r7WYhWB
The package includes a sleek, rounded square design, a charger and two ingenious "battery boosters" that not only supply power but also double as magnetic clips for attaching to your clothing.
The eye-catching feature is the $24 monthly subscription known as the "Humane Subscription."
This subscription delivers cellular data access and a dedicated phone number through what appears to be a Humane Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) utilizing the T-Mobile network.
Subscribers also have access to cloud storage for photos and videos, along with the "unrestricted use of AI models" from tech giants Microsoft and OpenAI.
The Humane AI Pin is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, packing a camera, depth and motion sensors, a unique "personic speaker," and a futuristic green laser projector.
With voice commands, a responsive touchpad, and support for Bluetooth headphones, it's a tech enthusiast's dream.
This device ditches the conventional wake word and instead relies on physical activation or touch. When the AI Pin is recording, a handy "Trust Light" indicator located at the top signals its operation.
Humane unveiled it online in November last year.
Previous demos have showcased its ability to summarize emails and craft messages in your own style. Tidal integration and a range of photography features are expected. For accessing stored content from other devices, a user-friendly "Humane.center" portal is set to make your life even more convenient.
According to RTTNews, the products were manufactured in China and sold online between November 2023 and May 2024.
