Elon Musk, the owner and former CEO of Twitter, has announced that the social media platform would soon allow users to post long-form articles incorporating various media.
On Tuesday, a Twitter user named Fausto Chou pointed out that Twitter Notes had undergone a rebranding to become Articles, which may indicate a possible resurgence in Twitter's development efforts.
Replying on Twitter, Musk verified that Twitter's Notes project had indeed transitioned into Articles. However, he didn’t share other details about the company's plans for Notes, or Articles as it now appears to be called, including when it might be launched.
This will allow users to post very long, complex articles with mixed media. You could publish a book if you want.

This announcement comes as Twitter strives to maintain its creator base amid escalating competition from Meta’s Threads, even resorting to offering a portion of ad revenue to creators.Â
Introducing long-form content could attract creators seeking wider distribution for articles that would typically find a home on their personal blogs or newsletters.
Twitter initially launched the Notes feature in June last year, months before Musk acquired the company.
The project, serving as an experimental playground for a small group of writers from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., provided these writers with a new "Write" tab on Twitter where they could draft and access all their Notes. Â
Their Twitter profiles also included a Notes tab where followers and other Twitter users could view their long-form content in a centralized location.
The company clarified at the time that Twitter Notes accommodated rich formatting and media uploads, including options to embed photos, videos, GIFs, and tweets.
Upon publishing, writers could tweet their Notes, thus sharing them with their followers. These followers could then retweet, share in Direct Messages, bookmark, or like these Notes, mirroring interactions with other tweets.
