Online communications platform Zoom is touting its AI services by taking on big tech in a new campaign.
Helmed by premier production agency Hungry Man, the latest effort is marked by a 30-second spot highlighting the perks of the Zoom AI Companion compared to other Big Tech AI services.
Harping on the spirit of "Mac v.s. PC" debates, it convinces the audience that the AI assistant they may be looking for is right within the platform.

Beyond that, the advert also takes a bat at recent mishaps happening within the realm of AI, like Google Gemini making wild culinary suggestions and an Olympics ad where a kid uses AI to write a letter to their idol.
In a statement, Hungry Man Managing Partner Caleb Dewart called the agency's recent work a "really good example of the current fluidity of the creative space we're in."
"However we get opportunities, we’re looking to be great partners and collaborators, leveraging our relationships to make the best work possible. And that’s really it — relationships matter now more than ever," he added.
In a recent post, Zoom also touted its relationship with Amazon Q, which enhances its AI Companion's contextualized responses.

Zoom's spot will roll out on social media, TV, and other channels, with additional content coming over the next couple of weeks.
Trust in the AI of big tech companies may falter due to the recent problems, and Zoom was quick to leverage these issues and position itself as a worthy and cost-effective option.
With the help of a reputable production company like Hungry Man, Zoom was able to clearly get its message across to viewers in a funny and engaging manner.
This brand marketing strategy not only builds awareness about its AI services but also lets audiences know that there's more to AI than the big names.
Zoom AI vs Big Tech AI
Directed by Dan Opsal, the 30-second spot kickstarts in the office, as we're introduced to two men representing Zoom AI Companion and Big Tech's AI.
The advert then gets into the multiple benefits of Zoom AI: while the service can summarize your calls for no additional cost, Big Tech's AI will charge you $30 per user per month for the same thing (like OpenAI's ChatGPT).
While Zoom AI can help you adjust the tone of your team chats, big tech AI can also do that — but it comes with a hefty price tag.

The commercial then takes a shot at the recent Google AI mishaps, with big tech asking a person if they want AI to write a letter to their favorite athlete or create a pizza recipe with glue and rocks.
The man then gives a look of disappointment over Big Tech AI's suggestions, as the spot ends.
Comparisons against competitors are common marketing tactics used in ads. Brands only differ in the way they do it.
