Walmart is tapping into holiday nostalgia by reuniting Luke and Lorelai, the iconic couple from the hit TV series "Gilmore Girls," in a new holiday campaign.
The campaign, developed in partnership with advertising agency Publicis New York, features Scott Patterson and Lauren Graham reprising their beloved roles as Luke and Lorelai for the first time since 2016.
Set in the familiar setting of Luke's Diner in Stars Hollow, the campaign captures the spirit of the holidays with a focus on thoughtfulness and personalization, showing how the perfect gifts reflect how well we know our loved ones.

With its 15-spot ad lineup, Walmart showcases gifts for everyone, from fashion and tech to toys, reinforcing the message that it's the thoughtfulness behind a gift that counts the most.
The advert will continue across multiple platforms, spreading festive cheer with a message of giving from the heart.
The campaign reflects a broader trend where brands are using nostalgic TV references to appeal to fans, evoking emotional connections tied to the holidays.
Welcome Back to Stars Hollow
"Give the Gift That Shows You Get Them" opens with a cozy small-town scene, where one of Gilmore Girls' quirky characters, Kirk, makes his way to Luke’s Diner to drop off a Walmart package.
Kirk and Luke exchange friendly greetings before Kirk nods and exits the diner.
Lorelai then enters, greeting Kirk warmly before heading to the counter.
With a smile, she says, “Coffee, coffee, coffee, please!”

Luke responds, “Coming right up!” as he pulls out the Walmart box, and Lorelai opens it to reveal a Keurig coffee machine — Luke's gift for Lorelai.
Lorelai thanks him for the thoughtful gift, and the scene transitions to Lorelai standing outside, snow gently falling around her, as Luke joins her.
The ad concludes with a voiceover, encouraging viewers to show they care through thoughtful gift-giving.
This touching ad is a sample of Walmart's effective seasonal marketing, which may have contributed greatly to the retail giant dominating Black Friday and beating Best Buy in the U.S. this year.
