Online food delivery platform Uber Eats has tapped tennis star Andy Murray for a hilarious yet thrilling new campaign.
Made together with independent creative agency Special Sydney, the new campaign is marked by several action-packed films starring the athlete, as he is chased down by Uber Eats delivery personnel.
"Get Almost, Almost Anything, Maybe Even Andy Murray" aims to tout the delivery platform's latest gimmick, which actually gives fans the chance to try and order the three-time grand slam winner himself.
The campaign will continue to roll out until January 23, to be concluded with a 45-second finale.
The campaign is set to air on TV, online video, and social media, as well as with disruptive hijacks of Channel 9 media properties.
"Having the opportunity to work with an icon of the sport is one thing, but having him agree to recast himself in such an unexpected and legendary way is a powerful tool to both entertain and educate Aussies about the Uber Eats mission of getting them almost anything across the retail spectrum," Uber ANZ Head of Brand Channa Goonasekara shared in a statement.
Goonasekara continued, saying the tennis star is the perfect person to remind people of Uber Eats' appeal as "the delivery platform for almost anything."
Uber Eats' latest campaign leverages Murray's star power to create an impact on its audiences — a great example of celebrity and influencer marketing.

The Chase Is On
The 30-second hero spot opens with Murray in his hotel room, interrupted by the unexpected chime of his doorbell.
Answering it, he’s met by a woman accompanied by an Uber Eats delivery driver.
“But I didn’t order anything on Uber Eats,” Murray remarks.
However, the woman clarifies that they’re not there to deliver — they’re actually there to pick him up.

She politely asks Murray to climb into the bag, but of course, he refuses, sparking a high-speed chase.
The pursuit takes them through the hotel hallways, culminating in Murray leaping out of a window to evade his pursuers, who opt to take the stairs instead.
The commercial concludes with the chase unresolved, to be continued in a series of short films.
Uber Eats has constantly partnered with big stars to promote its brand. Previously, it teamed up with "Home Alone" star Macaulay Culkin for a nostalgic holiday campaign.
