Clash of Clans x Travis Hunter: Key Findings
Clash of Clans is putting offense and defense front and center, both in- and off-game.
The hit mobile game by Supercell has teamed up with rising NFL star Travis Hunter in what it’s calling the first-ever two-way deal in Clash history.
Created by DAVID New York, the campaign highlights Hunter’s unique ability to play on both sides of the ball and ties it directly into Clash’s core gameplay of building defenses while launching strategic attacks.
Hunter, who recently went viral for playing Clash of Clans during his NFL Draft call, said the game helps him stay calm before big moments.
“I’ve been grinding Clash of Clans for a while, so when Draft Day came around, I turned to it to pass the time,” he shared.
“I’m hyped to team up with Clash for the first two-way deal in Clash history… and grab those gems to get their clan Summer ready.”
The partnership is part of Clash of Clans’ Summer Jam campaign, which gives players the chance to earn up to two million in-game gems.
In addition, select fans can earn a spot in Hunter’s in-game clan, but only if they prove themselves as both offensive and defensive standouts.
"Playing two-ways might be special in the NFL, but there are millions of Clash of Clans players who are doing the same every day," André Toledo, chief creative officer at DAVID New York explained.
Through the latest efforts, Clash of Clans wants to give fans "the same opportunity and reward" that Hunter got for their efforts.
Two-Way Play, One Wild Deal
The 30-second hero spot sees the NFL rookie talking about his first-ever two-day deal with Clash of Clans.
He opens up a chest where the fine print of their one-of-a-kind partnership lays, and reads out its rules: a million gems ot play offense, and a million gems to play defense.
"You think you got the skills to get signed?" he asks the viewers, as the spot ends.

The Hunter deal is part of the larger Summer Jam rollout, which encourages players to whip their villages back into shape through playful activations.
Apart from the spot, the campaign also includes includes a social media challenge that dares users to plank while attacking other players’ villages.
“We keep discovering athletes and celebrities who are real fans of the game," Iwo Zakowski, Supercell Head of Marketing explained.
However, Travis' two-way talents made him a stand-out, as well as the perfect match for a mobile game that takes both offense and defense.
Our Take: What Makes This Deal Actually Work?
The latest celebrity marketing efforts come as a targeted move that plays directly into the game's structure and player base.
Too often, athlete campaigns feel bolted on, like when brands see a viral moment and tried to cash in.
But in the case of Clash of Clans' Hunter tie-in, it makes sense.
The NFL star plays a dual-role identity in the campaign, and the reward mechanics echo that.
For brands tapping athletes or creators, this shows how a well-aligned concept can feel authentic, even in the most commercial of spaces.
Recently, Fortnite teamed up with global pop star Sabrina Carpenter for an epic dance festival in-game.
