Smartphone manufacturer OPPO has announced its partnership with Lamine Yamal, appointing the 17-year-old Spanish football prodigy as the brand's newest global brand ambassador.
The athlete will play a pivotal role in OPPO's "Make Your Moment" brand refresh.
In a statement, OPPO President of Overseas Marketing, Sales and Services Billy Zhang highlighted Yamal's incredible talent and passion, which inspired the brand to work with him:
"Like countless young people worldwide, Lamine refuses to be held back by anxiety or uncertainty about the future. Instead, he focuses on his passions and concentrates his energy on the present, finding fulfillment and strength through his dedication."

Yamal's exuberant yet humble personality is best reflected in his signature post-goal celebration, the "304" hand gesture, which pays tribute to the postal code of his hometown Rocafonda.
It is this energy that will define OPPO's plans for a series of community initiatives to support grassroots football development and upgrade facilities across the globe.
The effort will encourage the youth to submit their own original concepts for football charity football projects, giving them a chance to innovate football philanthropy.
Yamal's likeness will also be a part of OPPO's AI Studio platform, which lets fans "become Yamal's teammate."
OPPO's ventures in the AI space have enabled it to reach new heights, as it puts the new tech to work in innovative ways.
Partnering with Yamal also continues the brand's established influencer marketing strategy, which focuses mainly on athletes.
With Yamal as its partner, OPPO can further amplify its message, tapping into the Gen Z athlete community to connect with a broader, engaged audience that values authenticity and innovation.

The brand has explored brand collaborations in the sports world since 2015, most notably through a partnership with the UEFA Champions League.
Working at the intersection of imaging technology and sports has allowed it to grow exponentially and create fresh experiences for fans.
Last June, OPPO launched its own mixed-reality headset, which garnered both good and bad reviews.
