M&M'S has joined forces with Amazon MGM Studios for a bold new campaign, placing one of its candies in the studio's upcoming action film.
Created in partnership with agency T&Pm, the campaign shows spokescandy member Red alongside the cast of "Red One" as he injects himself into the movie's trailer.
In a short 30-second advert, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons converse with Red, who's keen on being part of the movie.
After all, "You can't have a 'Red One' without Red."
Rankin Carroll, chief brand officer of Mars Wrigley, shared his thoughts on the campaign.
“As the most talked about candy brand in entertainment, partnering with a soon-to-be holiday classic was a natural fit for the brand. And considering our spokescandies are more recognizable than Santa, we enlisted the help of our crew, led by our beloved Red, to spread joy, M&M’S, and colorfully fun experiences throughout the holiday season.”
By teaming up with world-famous action stars and the studio behind their latest film, the candy brand isn't only promoting the film — it's establishing itself as the ultimate snack to elevate every epic viewing experience.
It's a tried and tested brand marketing strategy that has done wonders for the brand.
"Red One" hits the theaters on November 15.

The spot kicks off with M&M's Red introducing viewers to the stars of the new "Red One" film.
"Great to be here, Red," Simmons responds to him.

The M&M then goes on to say that while he loves the film, he thinks they can all agree that one element is missing — himself — while proceeding to show the cast a hilariously edited version of the Red One trailer, where he superimposes himself into key scenes.
"Red, we love the idea, there's just one problem. We already shot the movie," Johnson and Simmons tell the candy man.
Unfazed, Red suggests throwing in some "Hollywood magic" to make it happen, as the film and the brand's logo flash on screen, closing the spot.
Recently, M&M'S teamed up with fashion brand Kate Spade to launch a collection inspired by its colors.
