Freshpet, a leading brand in the fresh pet food industry, has just announced a long-term partnership with global superstar Meghan Trainor.
April 11 is National Pet Day, and Freshpet timed it with the release of its latest ad "I'm a Dog Mom" and the official announcement of Trainor as its first brand ambassador.
Famous for her hits like "All About That Bass" and "Made You Look," Trainor is also known as a dog lover.

"Freshpet and I share similar mindsets in wanting what's best for our pets to help them live the longest, happiest lives. I used to make my dogs' food from scratch,” Trainor said in a press release.
“When I came across Freshpet, made with real meat, fruits, and vegetables, I knew I found a brand I could trust, and I've never seen them more excited for mealtime. My girls deserve the best, and the best is Freshpet,” she added.

Directed by Lauren Dunn and in collaboration with independent agency Terri & Sandy, Freshpet’s “I’m a Dog Mom” is like one of Trainor’s music videos, vibrant and upbeat, with a lot of flair that showcases her unique style.
Trainor wrote the catchy song herself, recorded it, and performed it in Freshpet's ad with her four fur babies.
"We prepared for the worst by having a lookalike stunt double for each of Meghan's pooches. But Meghan's dogs were total pros and nailed every scene," revealed Todd Condie, creative director at Terri & Sandy.
The full one-minute music video opens with the Grammy winner sitting in a dressing room, as she starts bopping to the beat.
Then, we see that the celebrity-like makeup area has four other seats, with each one being occupied by one of Trainor’s beloved pooches.

Throughout the song, we are treated to the visual delights of Trainor, along with her pups and backup dancers, as they groove to the music — from the posh bedroom, living room, and by the pool of a mansion.
After the glitz and glamor, the spot ends with the singer-songwriter reaching inside the fridge for a bag of Freshpet and pouring some into a dog bowl.
The “I’m a Dog Mom” ad comes in shorter versions, with a 15-seconder showcasing Trainor’s dogs truly enjoying their Freshpet bowls.
By partnering with a well-loved celebrity, Freshpet hopes to raise awareness around the benefits of feeding fresh food to pets and inspire more pet parents to make the switch to a healthier diet for their furry friends.
