Lexus x Tennis World Record Campaign:
- Lexus set two Guinness World Records with Jamie Murray and Laura Robson’s moving-car rally.
- The Agency and Marc Cass staged the stunt using Lexus NX vehicles at Duxford Airfield.
- The campaign airs on Sky Sports and supports Lexus’ ongoing tennis partnerships.
Lexus is going full-throttle this tennis season, quite literally.
In a first-of-its-kind campaign, the automaker brought Grand Slam champ Jamie Murray and former British No.1 Laura Robson onto a makeshift tennis court on top of two moving Lexus NX vehicles.
Here, they actually break not one, but two Guinness World Records titles.
The result? A 101-shot rally played while strapped to the roofs of two moving cars, one of which reached a speed of 46.67 km/h (29 mph).

Now, the stunt officially holds the records for both the longest and fastest tennis rally on top of moving vehicles.
The stunt marks the centerpiece of Lexus’ new marketing effort celebrating performance, precision, and an ongoing partnership with Sky Tennis.
“We are thrilled to launch this exciting new campaign,” said Chris Hayes, director of Lexus UK.
“Achieving two Guinness World Records titles with two British tennis legends is a momentous achievement to celebrate our partnership with Sky Tennis, and our ongoing involvement in the sport.”
With the summer tennis calendar heating up, the record-breaking spot captures attention for its athletic challenge and how it ties the brand's core values of craft and control.
A Rally Like No Other
The stunt itself was engineered with the precision Lexus is known for.
Only this time, it wasn’t just the car being tested.
Filmed at Duxford Airfield in Cambridge, the scene featured two Lexus NX SUVs fitted with aluminum platforms bolted into the roof rack mounting points.
Each platform was load-tested and reinforced with extra safety straps to ensure both the player and vehicle remained stable throughout the attempt.
The shoot was directed by veteran stunt coordinator Marc Cass, whose past credits include sequences in “James Bond,” “Harry Potter,” and “Star Wars.”
Professional stunt drivers handled the cars, keeping the rally steady as the athletes traded shots above them.
To maintain safety, both players wore bespoke harnesses and were supported by a full stunt and medical crew.
Practice runs, timing checks, and ball trajectory simulations were all rehearsed to make sure nothing was left to chance.
The final footage is now airing across multiple Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports F1 during the Silverstone Grand Prix.
Our Take: How Far Can Brand Storytelling Really Go?
As tennis takes center court this summer, Lexus bets big on spectacle and speed to do something daring and new within the automobile space.
What struck me about this campaign wasn’t just the audacity of the stunt, but the creative commitment to pushing both sport and automotive storytelling to new extremes.
It's a branded risk.
I like that Lexus didn’t fall back on metaphors or cinematic cutaways.
They just did something no one had ever done before, and let the footage speak for itself.
Recently, Barclays tapped Francis Tiafoe to star in a film for Wimbledon.
