Kevin the Carrot, everyone's favorite ALDI UK mascot, is back for an epic campaign in time for the holidays.
Made together with advertising agency McCann Manchester, the 90-second commercial sees the iconic carrot embarking on a dramatic heist mission to reclaim the "Christmas Spirit" from the Humbug Headquarters to save everyone's holiday.
The spot boasts stellar animation and action-packed sequences familiar to those following ALDI's Christmas spots over the years — this time, with Kevin's wife Katie in the picture.

Kevin the Carrot, first introduced in 2016, has since developed a rich fan base among ALDI's consumers, giving them something to look forward to every year.
ALDI UK Marketing Director Jemma Townsend acknowledges the character's status as a holiday figure:
"Would it even be Christmas without Kevin the Carrot on our screens? We’re delighted to bring back everyone’s favorite carrot for a ninth year to help the nation get into the Christmas spirit.”

Meanwhile, McCann CCO Dave Price recalls the humble beginnings of Kevin the Carrot, back when he "was just a little leafy shoot in the McCann veg plot."
"Nine years have flown! But we think Kevin’s got a good few assignments to crack yet,” he added.
Bringing back such a beloved character is a no-brainer for ALDI.
With a special holiday spot every year, he's not only a source of excitement for ALDI's customers but also a positive figure that ties well with the global supermarket chain's unique brand identity.
Kevin Saves Christmas Once Again
The holiday commercial brings us to the night of Christmas Eve, where the Festive Spirit had been stolen by Humbug thieves.
Kevin the Carrot then learns about the events from Santa who calls him in the middle of his slumber.
He quickly accepts the mission, and alongside his wife Katie, breaks into the Humbug HQ to retrieve the Spirit.

They then go through a series of challenges as they navigate the compound: finding themselves in fiery ovens, hopping from pie to pie, and slipping in between lasers à la "Mission Impossible."
Eventually, they find the Festive Spirit but get caught in a booby trap. A high-speed chase then occurs, with many of the Humbug henchmen trailing them as they ski through snowy mountains.
The ad culminates with the Spirit being freed, flying over houses, and bringing food to people's tables with Kevin and Katie.
In the end, the three were able to save Christmas and bring a bountiful feast to every household.
Previously, ALDI launched a spot starring Kevin to celebrate the beginning of the Paris Olympics.
