Finance platform NerdWallet has just unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming Super Bowl Commercial.
Launched during the NFL Conference Championship, the trailer's main highlight is a CGI-animated talking beluga whale.
In a statement, the brand and its agency or record Deutsch stated that the animal was the perfect fit for NerdWallet, a company committed to helping its users make smarter financial decisions.

The teaser was also accompanied by a long streak of beluga whale-themed memes on the brand's X account.
Though fans were initially confused when the posting began last weekend, many were eventually thrilled by the seemingly random comedic outburst.

Additionally, NerdWallet has also announced a contest to support the campaign, where anyone who thinks they have beluga-like features can share photos of themselves for a chance to win prizes.
For this, the brand partnered up with internet meme creator and beluga lookalike Tank Sinatra.

A 30-second spot opens on a small boat out in the ocean, where a small group of tourists take in the scenery.
One man sitting on a deck chair reads a brochure about beluga whales, which tells him that beluga whales have the IQ of a human genius.
Suddenly, an off-screen voice replies to him, telling him, "We sure do."
The man looks off to the side of the boat and finds a friendly beluga whale casually poking its head out of the water.
After a brief exchange, the visibly startled man slowly cranes his head to look behind him, hilariously ending the spot as the tagline "genius coming" flashes onscreen.
NerdWallet has achieved substantial business growth, with revenue reaching $191.3 million in the third quarter of 2024, driven by strong performance in its small to mid-sized business products and diversification into new verticals like insurance.
