Fireball Whisky is heating things up this coming college and NFL season with a new campaign inspired by the sport's diehard fans.
At the center of the campaign, helmed in-house by parent company Sazerac, are two new commercials that highlight the fiery rivalries among fans in support of different teams.
American comedians Andrew Santino and Stavros Halkias bring their unique comedic flair to the spots, showing the lengths fanatics would go to bet on their teams — even if it means shaving their heads or getting embarrassing tattoos.
Not only are the spots a sign of fans' commitment and dedication to their teams and their players but a showcase of the competitive spirit that lies within all of us.
Danny Suich, global brand director for Fireball Whisky, expounds on this sentiment.
"The insight for this campaign is rooted in the idea that diehard fans love the rivalry element of football — it’s one of the last frontiers where talking trash and trolling your buddies is totally acceptable, celebrated even. And that’s where Fireball enters the conversation," Suich told DesignRush.

Suich also talks about the brand's commitment to bringing fun and sparking mischief in every moment, as well as how Santino and Halkias perfectly embody that combination.
"Their real-life camaraderie and vibrant banter help to vividly illustrate how Fireball can transform game-day experiences with exaggerated yet relatable scenarios, turning every game day into an unforgettable, spirited event," he added.
The latest from the whisky brand will officially air during the biggest BIG 10 and Notre Dame college football games via NBC, which includes pre-game and in-game segments.
Its NFL alignments will also start with the Peacock Exclusive match-up between the Philadephia Eagles and Green Bay Packers from Brazil, which also includes pre-game and in-game spots.
Notably, Fireball will also launch its first-ever paid TikTok campaign, engaging with fans on the platform.
The brand's decision to extend its social media marketing efforts comes from its desire to be where its fans are. Knowing that its audience engages with TikTok on a daily basis, it took the opportunity to connect with them through creative fit for the platform.
"Our football ads are designed to align with TikTok's current trends and content preferences, and we are leveraging influential TikTok talent to naturally integrate our rivalries into the platform. Plus, the two stars we teamed up with are know to really get the party started, making our content the perfect fit for the app’s lively community," Suich concluded.
By partnering with two popular TikTok personalities (Santino has 1.4 million followers while Halkios has nearly 600,000), Fireball's latest campaign is a clear-cut example of influencer marketing done right.
Not only do they bring the laughs, but they also show fans what kind of fun-spirited brand Fireball truly is.
'A Bet's a Bet'
The first spot starts off with the two comedians sitting by the bar, watching their favorite teams duke it out. Santino celebrates his team's victory, while Stavros looks down in shame.
As the two take shots of ice-cold Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Fireball's mascot pops up on Santino's shoulder, reminding him that "a bet's a bet."
He then whips out an electric hair trimmer from his pocket and tells Stavros he knows what to do.
Stavros then asks the audience if he looks good (without his eyebrows), while Santino asks him if he's happy or sad, concluding the spot.
The second 30-second ad follows the same premise, this time with Stavros losing a bet that would lead him to get a ridiculous-looking tattoo on his back.
"How's the shading?" Santino asks the audience.
The commercial ends with Stavros asking Santino if he disinfected the needle he used to give him a tattoo, to which Santino confusingly replies, "Yes."
Both spots end with the campaign tagline, "Fireball, Ignite Your Rivalry."
It's football season once again. Previously, the NFL launched an inspiring campaign, made together with agency 72andSunny, to hype up the excitement and further endear its brand to fans.
