Airbnb just launched a new campaign that invites you to stay a night in various pop-culture-inspired houses around the globe, including the floating house featured in Pixar’s "Up" and the mansion in Marvel's "X-Men."
"Icons" is the homestay company’s new category of special experiences, drawing influences from big names in music, film, television, art, and sports.

"Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination — until now," Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO, said in a press release.
'Icons' Turns Dreams Into Reality
The new category, which can be found on Airbnb’s in-app homepage, hosts 11 different locations hosted by celebrities and popular fictional characters, turning what was once only imaginable into an experiential reality.
These include the "Up house" hosted by Carl Fredricksen, located in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Much like in the 2009 Disney film, the house is tied to 8,000 balloons and a crane that allows it to stay suspended in mid-air.

Meanwhile, the "Ferrari Museum" located in Maranello, Italy, lets racing fans sleep on a leather bed akin to Ferrari seats, go on a ride with Airbnb host and Scuderia Ferrari ambassador driver Marc Gené, and be a VIP to the Emilia-Romagna race.
Other listings that you can book include the following iconic places and unique experiences:
- Marvel Animation's X-Men '97 house
- Prince's Purple Rain house
- A night with Kevin Hart at his members-only Coramino Live Lounge
- A living room session with rapper Doja Cat
- A gaming experience with TikTok personality Khaby Lame

"Most Icons are free, and all are priced under $100 USD per guest. A countdown displays the time until each Icon goes live, and guests can request to book through the app," the press release stated.
Booking involves random selection, where guests will be asked about their unique take on the particular listing and their ties to their chosen Icon.
Airbnb will then choose the lucky guests who will receive a "golden ticket" to the locations, expecting to give out about 4,000 of them throughout the year.

Alongside the launch of "Icons," the online marketplace rolled out new in-app features that include:
- Shared wishlists to better plan group trips
- A Messages tab combining all conversations from the guest, host, and customer support
- Digital trip invitations that users can send out to their friends and family
"As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With 'Icons,' we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth," Chesky concluded.
