Vodafone's youth brand VOXI Mobile has just launched a cheeky new campaign to hilariously get people through overwhelming holiday obligations with an ingenious phone case designed to hide phone activity.
Helmed by advertising agency AMV BBDO, it's the latest chapter of VOXI's "The Fun Never Ends" platform that began in June 2023.
The effort was inspired by the fact that young adults may sometimes need a break from family-related activities while spending Christmas with their families.
In line with this, VOXI has come up with a humorous solution to the issue: "Phoney Cases" that perfectly complement the provider's Unlimited Social Media plans.

The campaign's creative director, Michael Hughes, shared some details about the effort in a statement to DesignRush:
"VOXI is all about ensuring the fun never ends with their Unlimited Social Media plans. But at a Christmas we are often told to put our phones away and join in, which for some is the fun well and truly ending.
So VOXI designed a range of Phone cases that disguise the fact that you are on your phone, allowing you to keep up to date and keep in touch, without anyone ever knowing."
Meanwhile, VOXI Brand Head Jordan Stone highlighted the importance of staying connected and entertained through the holidays.
AMV BBDO Creative Directors Michael Hughes and Dalatando Almeida also chimed in, explaining how "Phoney Cases" sneakily blend in with the holiday surroundings:
"After all, there's always a baby at Christmas, and no one wants to wake it up."

Launched via a limited-time contest on Meta platforms and TikTok on December 18, the range includes:
- A "Baby" case designed to make it look like you're carrying an infant child
- A "Plaster Cast" for faking injuries
- A "Revision Book" for fake studying.
VOXI Mobile users had the chance to win a "Baby" ahead of Christmas Day by participating through the brand's social media channels.
This campaign's unique concept differentiates itself from other holiday campaigns, focusing on quality personal time away from family.
It's a great reflection of the brand's identity, connecting with younger generations through humor.
Take a Phone Break
A short spot from VOXI Mobile demonstrates just how effective the "Baby" case is at hiding phone use.
It opens with a woman gently holding a baby with a small smile on her face.
As a solemn Christmas tune sets the mood, the camera goes behind the woman to hilariously reveal a phone embedded into the fake baby's blanket.

Aside from the spot, KISS presenter Tatum McGreal will help promote the cases in a social media feature.
Campaigns like this demonstrate the creative edge often embraced by leading U.K. advertising agencies.
Late last month, Leo Burnett helped Vodafone launch a holiday campaign celebrating the brand's 40 years of Christmas celebrations.
