Skatewear brand Vans has once again collaborated with indie brand Carpet Company to bring a twist to one of its most iconic silhouettes.
The new "Vans Skate Old Skool 36+" is a recreation of the classic Vans Old Skool 36 model, which first hit the stores in 1977.
It features a white and yellow colorway, a leather strip in black, and a bright red insignia just on the tongue of the shoe which features a joint logo design.
Limited to just 1,977 pairs, each sneaker will have a number out of 1977 stamped on the inside of its tongue — a small detail that adds prestige and sneakerheads are sure to appreciate.

While no official date has been announced for the drop of the shoe, the two brands have teased the forthcoming sneaker through a short film featuring Carpet Company Founder Osama Abdeldayem, as well as popular skateboarder Tony Alva.
The latest piece of work from Vans and Carpet Company is just one of their many collaborations between the two brands in the past few years, previously dropping iterations of the Vans Skate Cab 4 and Vans Skate Half Cab models.
Over the years, the two have developed a rich fanbase that both sneakerheads and skateboard fans can get behind — proving the effective power of a brand partnership that sticks to their respective identities.
Utilizing digital marketing agencies can further amplify these collaborations, ensuring they reach the right audiences and drive sustained engagement across platforms.
What If the Old Skool 36 Never Existed?
The nearly 90-second spot takes viewers back to 1977 when early designs of the Vans Old Skool 36 were being sketched.
However, the commercial takes a turn by hypothesizing how the world would be if the famous shoe was never invented.
At present day, a plumber dons his Vans Classic Slip-On as he patches up a sink.
"It's clogged," he tells his client, to which the man responds, "You got to fix it."
In another scene, a janitor mops an empty classroom, when a mean student throws a piece of crumbled paper to the floor where the man was mopping. "You missed a spot," the kid tells the janitor.

Somewhere in an office, an employee receives a stack of papers from his boss, who tells him to finish the work before the end of the day.
Finally, a mean-spirited judge declares a man guilty, before telling him to get out of the courtroom.
To close the spot, Alva is seen on a couch reading "The Old Skool Mentality."
"Thank God that never f***ing happened," he tells the viewers, as the spot ends.
Recently, Palace and Carhartt WIP collaborated for a skate and workwear-inspired winter collection.
