Teremana wants you to read how its tequila is made without having to turn the bottle around.

The brand, co-founded by Dwayne Johnson, just launched "The Craft Editions," moving its agave and copper cues to the front of the bottle.

The limited collection gives the two expressions a production-inspired packaging design.

Teremana Blanco arrives in a vibrant blue bottle referencing the 100% Blue Weber agave used to make the tequila.

Meanwhile, the Reposado edition uses metallic copper, drawing from the handmade copper pot stills used during distillation.

Both bottles contain Teremana’s existing Blanco and Reposado expressions and are available nationwide at select retailers while supplies last.

The summer release gives the brand a timely promotional hook for hosting, gifting, and social gatherings.

The Process Moves to the Front Label

Most of how a tequila gets made sits where shoppers never look, the back label, the brand site, and a distillery page.

"The Craft Editions" pulls the two clearest signals, agave and copper, to the front of the bottle.

Behind these cues sits the rest of the process:

  • Agave slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens
  • Reposado rested in American whiskey barrels before bottling

The "Moana" actor said the collection honors the agave, the copper stills, and the people behind the distillery.

"'The Craft Editions' feel deeply personal to me because it's a tribute to that journey," Johnson said in a press release.

The packaging design gives Teremana a faster way to show how its tequila is made.

A Limited Run Creates a Purchase Trigger

Keeping the liquid unchanged reduces the product education required at the point of purchase.

Existing customers still get the Blanco’s citrus-led profile or the Reposado’s oak and vanilla notes.

The bottle design is enough of a reason to notice, gift, display, or bring the tequila to a gathering.

And the while-supplies-last release adds urgency without expanding Teremana’s permanent portfolio.

The launch offers three useful takeaways:

  • Put the process on the package. Production cues can make craftsmanship easier to understand on the shelf.
  • Refresh a familiar product. A new design can attract attention without asking customers to learn a new flavor.
  • Give limited editions a defined retail window. Seasonal timing helps stores merchandise a familiar product with renewed urgency.

If the design moves product, Teremana learns it can refresh a bottle instead of reformulating a tequila, and do it again whenever sales need a lift.

Our Take: Who Is This Bottle Actually For?

The shopper picks up the bottle, but the retailer decides whether it ever reaches eye level.

We think the retailer is the real audience here.

A limited run gives a familiar SKU a reason to earn an endcap, a gifting display, or extra summer facings.

@therock Your boy was in Vegas for some biz and before I went wheels up 🛫 I did a little surprise “Rock pull up” to see my friends at @Total Wine & More ellow late-night shoppers went home well stocked with @Teremana Tequila 🛒 🥃 I gotchu 😉☝🏾 Great to meet all you lovely folks, and enjoy your Mana 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Until next time, Vegas.. These placements are where the money is, and Teremana can pitch it as low-risk, too.

Because the liquid and the price haven't changed, a buyer gambles nothing on an unproven taste.

The smart play is to track which editions win displays and reorders, then carry this proof into the next negotiation.

A bottle that earns its own endcap once becomes the argument for more shelf space across the whole portfolio.

Win the buyer, and the drinker follows.

Similarly, Don Julio 1942 previously used a Peggy Gou bottle collaboration to connect an established tequila with fashion, nightlife, and collector appeal.
