Hitting store shelves on August 11, the new limited-edition cookie introduces a rich chocolate base, fudge chips, and a vivid strawberry center.
This marks the first time the brand has used a fruit-flavored filling.
Senior Director Sabrina Sierant noted that the collaboration aims to deliver a shared experience for longtime cookie lovers and fans of the show.
"This isn't just any product launch – it's a cultural moment that joins two beloved brands together in an exciting and captivating way...
Through experiential components and elements of nostalgia, we are delivering unforgettable experiences for different generations of fans – whether they grew up in the 80s or are experiencing that awesome decade through the show."

The packaging embraces a vintage look that channels the 1980s, complete with glow-in-the-dark details for added visual impact.
Fans had the chance to secure early access to the product starting July 21, but only a select number of orders were accepted.
The cookie’s release comes just months before the Netflix series wraps its final chapter this fall, making it a timely cross-promotional move tied to the series' conclusion.
Play, Win, Snack, Repeat
Alongside the cookie, Chips Ahoy! has launched a mobile-based experience designed around the world of Stranger Things.
The packaging design features a code that links to an interactive game where participants explore themed environments to find digital versions of the cookie.
Successful gameplay unlocks chances to win branded merchandise and a replica of a guitar popularized by fan-favorite character Eddie Munson.
@snachwithzach Chips Ahoy and Stranger Things have a new collab cookie releasing in August so we’re trying it out. These Upside Down-inspired Chewy cookies are double chocolate filled with strawberry. Definitely up my alley. The QR code on the front of the package will be active starting August 11th and will feature a mini game plus the chance to grab some cool Stranger Things swag. The collection also includes a throwback line of Chips Ahoy! Original cookies, redesigned to reflect packaging styles from the decade when the show takes place.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in stages, with new episodes scheduled across key holiday dates.
The premiere is set for November 26, followed by additional episodes on December 25 and December 31.
The cookie brand is aligning its rollout with that schedule to encourage fans to stock up ahead of the show’s finale and bring a themed snack to their watch parties.
Chips Ahoy!'s recent moves are part of a broader push by parent company Mondelez to reestablish the brand as a modern snacking option.
In 2024 and 2025, the company added 2.05 million new U.S. households, with household penetration up 7.5% and 23% of that growth driven by product innovation and influencer partnerships.
Our Take: Is This Just Another Gimmick?
I don’t think so.
This campaign is more than a seasonal flavor drop; it ties a major cultural moment to a physical product in a way that feels purposeful.
From a business perspective, it’s a smart strategy that invites engagement across retail, digital, and entertainment channels.

It’s not just about increasing snack sales, but about creating brand relevance during a peak pop culture event.
That kind of integration is difficult to execute well, and Chips Ahoy! is doing it with precision.
