Legacy swimwear brand Speedo is encouraging athletes and fitness enthusiasts to rethink their training routines with its new initiative.
The "Less Gym, More Swim" campaign promotes swimming as a full-body workout that builds strength, endurance, and flexibility while offering a refreshing alternative to traditional gym workouts.
As part of the campaign, the world’s leading swimwear brand is rolling out a series of professionally curated swim drills and fitness content designed to help people integrate swimming into their existing routines.
These swim drills will focus on key fitness areas such as coordination, endurance, and power.
Additionally, the brand will also unveil innovative training products designed for both in and out of the water.
The latest efforts from Speedo were backed by a OnePoll survey which found that 87% of participants reported improved stamina, while 89% felt stronger after incorporating swimming into their fitness regimen.

Meanwhile, another study showed that runners who added just 10% swim training to their routine improved their 3.2 km run times by over 13 seconds in eight weeks.
"Swimming remains the ultimate and original full body work out, engaging 24 muscle groups with low impact highly effective training that offers added benefits such as enhanced flexibility and mental well-being," Steph O’Neill, Speedo’s VP of Brand Marketing, shared in a press release.
"With 'Less Gym, More Swim,' we're inviting everyone to enhance their fitness journey and discover how swimming can offer a refreshing way to supplement their typical training environment and enjoy all the benefits of a full body workout," he added.
Speedo also partnered with fitness app Strava to help users track swim workouts alongside other training, making it easier to measure progress and stay motivated.
This collaboration blends technology and fitness, giving swimmers the tools to improve endurance, strength, and overall performance.
By sticking to the facts and encouraging an alternative workout to stay fit and healthy, Speedo not only builds on its brand affinity but also champions its products in a natural and authentic way.
A New Take on Training
The "Less Gym, More Swim," hero spot kickstarts with a muscular man visibly struggling with his bench press exercise.
As he looks to his right, he finds a toned swimmer doing the same exercise with ease.
"Forget chest day, it's everything day," the narrator says as the swimmer looks at the weightlifter, who then gives him a nod of acknowledgment.

The spot closes with the swimmer heading back to the pool, diving from the tipping board to start his session.
"Do the original full-body workout. Less gym, more swim," the narrator shares, as the commercial ends.
The campaign will roll out across Speedo’s channels starting February 2025, offering tools and inspiration for athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike.
