Halloween has a new place to crack open a Reese's.
Shake Shack is putting Reese's Peanut Butter Cups into its latest limited-time shake.
The mashup gives Reese's a frozen format and Shake Shack a recognizable Halloween product.
The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake pours vanilla frozen custard, Reese's Creamy Peanut Butter, and fudge sauce into a crackable dark chocolate shell.
It is finished with whipped cream, Mini Peanut Butter Cups, and chopped Reese's Pieces.
The shake is available nationwide through participating U.S. Shacks starting September 1.

The idea comes with built-in brand recognition.
Reese's ranked as the top-selling Halloween candy brand during the 10-week period ending Nov. 2, 2025, according to Circana data cited by Hershey.
John Karangis, executive chef and VP of culinary innovation at Shake Shack, told DesignRush:
"Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are one of America's most delicious iconic treats, and perfect for Halloween."
"We wanted fans to experience the same crack-and-bite experience in a shake."
The timing also gives Shake Shack a stronger Halloween product story than its 2025 promotion.
Last year, the chain offered a BOGO Double ShackBurger deal using the code SPOOKY.
This year, Shake Shack has a product that sells, photographs well, and reads as Halloween before October starts.
Shake Shack Makes the Crack Part of the Product
The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake takes a familiar candy formula and gives it a physical ritual.
Drinkers first crack through a hard, dark chocolate shell before reaching vanilla custard mixed with Reese's peanut butter and fudge sauce.

Each added topping gives the brand partnership a new layer to appeal to consumer senses.
Mini Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's Pieces sit over whipped cream, while the chocolate shell gives the shake its defining texture.
This is the fourth Shake Shack drink to use the crackable shell format.
The chain first used the format for its viral Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake.
Shake Shack used the shell again for the Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake over the holidays and the True Love Shake in February.

Shake Shack returned the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake to menus nationwide on June 9.
The brand now owns a recognizable mechanic that it can refill with any seasonal flavor.
Reese's Gives Shake Shack a Halloween Shortcut
Reese's already has unusually strong Halloween recognition, giving Shake Shack a familiar flavor base to work with.
Numerator found that Reese's had the highest household penetration among major candy brands in the 12 months ending Aug. 31, 2025.
Reese's reached 65.2% of Gen Z households, 73.6% of Millennials, and 81.8% of Gen X.
These figures help the partnership start with an existing purchase habit.
The recognition does the work that most co-branding deals have to buy with media spend.

The data points to three useful lessons for brands extending familiar products into new occasions.
- Recognition lowers trial friction. Brands should move proven product associations into adjacent categories to create new demand.
- Physical rituals can make food more shareable. Teams should give limited-time products a visible mechanic to create content opportunities.
- Distribution determines how far a seasonal idea travels. Brands should pair distinctive products with partners that can put them in front of large audiences.
Brands that combine recognition, participation, and distribution get a menu item and a marketing asset from one launch.
Our Take: Can Shake Shack Own Halloween?
Shake Shack has turned its crackable shell into a co-branding asset it can rent to a different candy brand every season.
The chain now has a recognizable Halloween product tied to one of the holiday’s strongest candy brands.
This strategy gives it a stronger seasonal association than last year’s BOGO promotion.

We think the answer to the question above is not yet, because Reese's supplies the Halloween equity here, while Shake Shack only supplies the format.
If Shake Shack wants consumers to expect a Halloween offering each fall, the brand needs to keep giving the holiday its own menu identity.
Still, the Reese’s partnership is a useful first step, giving Shake Shack a reason to enter a seasonal conversation dominated by candy brands and fast-food LTOs.
If Shake Shack can repeat this with a distinct Halloween lineup each year, the holiday could become a recurring brand property.
Reese’s is also extending its Halloween identity into other food occasions.
The Nitro Bar launched the limited-time Reese's Pumpkins PB Whip Latte in August, moving the same chocolate and peanut butter profile into specialty coffee.
