Real estate platform Opendoor's new "Confessions" campaign challenges the myth that winter is a poor time to sell a home, offering homeowners a simple, reliable option to sell year-round.
Launched with New York creative agency L&C, the campaign redefines selling in the colder months as an easy, stress-free process.
For years, many homeowners have avoided listing their homes during fall and winter, thinking the market slows down.

Opendoor and L&C, however, are flipping that narrative by showcasing how the platform allows homeowners to sell at any time of year without hassle.
Opendoor Chief Marketing Officer David Corns says that the every aspect of the campaign was designed to change perceptions in a unique and memorable way.
“Our ‘Confessions’ campaign highlights just how easy it can be for homeowners to sell to us in the off-season.
We’re grateful to our creative partners at L&C for their unique approach, incorporating a playful nod to true crime documentaries.”

The creative features two key spots set to air this winter, supported by paid media on national and local news channels targeting true crime programming.
Alongside the campaign, Opendoor will continue to engage with industry professionals and home sellers through targeted outreach.
Darren & Debbie
The first spot opens with an aerial view of a quiet, snow-dusted suburb in winter with the words “Opendoor Presents: Real Estate Confessions” appearing on screen.
The camera transitions to real estate broker “Darren,” who begins discussing the ease of selling a home during the colder months.
As Darren speaks, his face is pixelated. Midway through, he pauses, turning to address someone behind the camera.
"You are disguising my voice here, right?" he asks, and a nervous voice off-camera quickly assures him, "Of course!" and Darren exhales in visible relief.
Only then does his voice shift to a distorted tone, and he resumes talking about the benefits of selling a home with Opendoor.
The spot concludes with a direct call to action: visit Opendoor to experience how easy it is to sell your home, no matter the season.
The second ad mirrors the opening of the first: an aerial view of a wintery suburban neighborhood, accompanied by on-screen text.
A woman begins speaking, explaining how she’s always told people that selling a house in winter is difficult.
She then shares how selling her home through Opendoor turned out to be a win for both her and the buyer, highlighting the platform’s simplicity and convenience.
Midway through, she pauses to ask the director if the video is going online, and the director responds with a casual "Yeah."
Her expression shifts to visible dismay, and the ad wraps up with the familiar call to action.
Previously, Opendoor launched a similar campaign that highlights the ease of selling a home on the platform, no matter the reason or the season.
