New Zealand supermarket chain New World partnered with DDB Group Aotearoa to launch a new Christmas campaign inviting locals to find the wonderful this holiday season.
"Find Your Wonderful" showcases the crucial role food has in connecting families and celebrating holiday traditions many Kiwi families hold dear.
As part of its campaign, New World will also share festive recipes and extend the story across social media, offering Kiwis inspiration to create new holiday traditions for 2024.

According to DDB Aotearoa Creative Director Courtney Dow, the ad spotlights what's non-negotiable for the holidays:
“We’re not sure if we all like it, but it wouldn’t be Christmas without it. This story talks to a special and intimate family tradition of a dad and daughter, who always celebrate Christmas Eve together, and how they keep that tradition alive when plans change.”
Meanwhile, New World Head of Marketing and CX Giselle Bleakley explained that the holiday season is "the one time of the year that these traditions really matter," and the brand wants to let its customers know that it "will go above and beyond to make Christmas magic."
New World’s Christmas campaign is also celebrating the importance of holiday traditions by offering support to shift workers and giving away free lunches.
The initiative shows the importance of a company’s brand values, which prioritize community care, connection, and creating a positive impact on people's lives.
Honoring Traditions and Sharing Giveaways
The 60-second commercial opens in a bustling hospital ward, where a young nurse hurriedly walks through the halls while speaking to her dad on the phone.
As he selects the perfect ham, she regretfully tells him she’s been assigned to a double shift and may miss their cherished Christmas Eve tradition.
Undeterred, her dad picks up the ham from New World and surprises her in the parking lot, where she sees his truck adorned with Christmas lights.
“It’s Christmas Eve for another 10 minutes,” he says, and they raise a toast of ham sandwiches as they relax together on the truck’s tailgate.
The commercial concludes with the heartfelt tagline: "Find Your Wonderful."
The campaign will be featured in a TVC and supported by digital content to showcase how simple gestures can create memorable family moments.
Campaigns are being launched left and right as brands compete to stand out against competition this holiday season. Previously, supermarket ALDI launched a campaign encouraging Aussies to "go a little extra" this Christmas.
