Global supermarket chain ALDI is inviting Australians to go all out this Christmas without overspending.
Launching on November 14, the new campaign, "Go A Little Extra," celebrates adding festive flair to holiday gatherings, complete with a unique recipe generator to help Aussies plan an indulgent feast.
The campaign, developed in collaboration with creative agency BMF, centers around a humorous commercial and two shorter versions promoting the different ways to "Go a Little Extra" this Christmas.
The hero film showcases a couple tasked with bringing a turkey to a Christmas party, going over the top to make the celebration more memorable.
The initiative is ALDI’s way of supporting Aussies in creating extraordinary holiday moments without the hefty price tag.
Jenny Melhuish, ALDI Australia’s marketing director, explained the brand’s approach in a statement:
"Every Christmas, even those of us who plan to keep it low-key can’t help but splash out on little indulgences, festive flair, and the finishing touches that make Christmas feel like Christmas. It’s the time of year when everyone ups their game, and ALDI is no exception."

As part of the campaign, ALDI is also launching the “Festive Extra-nator” on November 14.
The recipe generator offers over 30 holiday recipes designed to suit various levels of “extra.”
From understated dishes to elaborate showstoppers, the tool helps families create a memorable holiday feast by tailoring recipes to their preferences.
Available on ALDI’s website, the tool is a resource for families looking to add flair and personalization to their gatherings without added stress.
This underscores how a well-designed website can make it expandable and flexible, enabling businesses to add special features or tools when needed.
Developed in collaboration with BMF, Zenith Media, and Ogilvy PR, "Go a Little Extra" will run through the holiday season across various platforms, including TV, cinema, radio, and out-of-home (OOH) advertising.
Why Not 'Go a Little Extra' This Holiday Season?
The 60-second commercial begins with a woman being invited by her grandmother to a Christmas dinner with the request to bring a turkey.
She and her husband go all out, preparing the turkey and constructing an extravagant "gravy boat," which they hilariously sail across the ocean to reach the venue.
Things take a comedic turn when the boat cracks and begins to flood.
Wearing life vests, they abandon ship, holding the turkey above their heads as they swim to safety.
The ad concludes with the couple, soaking wet but triumphant, finally seated at the Christmas table with family and friends, smiling as they celebrate a job well done.
Previously, ALDI USA launched its "Swindle Season" ad campaign to establish the supermarket as the top destination for holiday shopping.
