Casio has just unveiled its newest collaboration with global reggaeton superstar J Balvin: the Ma G-SHOCK DWE5600.
Inspired by the artist's nickname for his closest friends, the "Ma G" is the brand's first-ever product to have Spanish text on the dial, as well as its first collaboration with a Latin artist.
The limited-edition timepiece boasts an interchangeable band and bezel set in black and translucent yellow colorways, letting owners experiment with up to eight different design combinations.

Fusing G-SHOCK's trademark durability with J Balvin's unique style, it also features the star's lightning bolt motif.
In a press release, J Balvin shared how the G-SHOCK brand mirrors his personal journey with its bold, tough style:
"With this launch, I wanted to create something that reflects my music and culture, while also giving fans a unique way to express themselves. This watch does just that, with bold, interchangeable parts that let everyone make it their own."
With his childhood love for the brand and its constant presence in his life, the artist initially teamed up with Casio and G-SHOCK at the brand's 40th-anniversary concert in 2023.
Now, the two have reunited for a full circle moment that will bring joy to fans and collectors alike.
The Ma G-SHOCK launches globally on January 27.
G-SHOCK has collaborated with a massive roster of artists, athletes, designers, and celebrities over the years, including BAPE, the Wu-Tang Clan, FC Barcelona, and Gorillaz, among others.
Artist collaborations could be considered one of the highest levels of influencer marketing, as they leverage a well-known figure's brand and image to create a product.
With the superstar having 50.2 million followers on Instagram alone, G-SHOCK gains direct access to a vast and engaged audience, amplifying brand visibility and connecting with fans who value his style and influence.
It's About Time
A one-minute inspiring ad titled "TIME MATTERS" stars J Balvin as he showcases his new G-SHOCK model.
It opens with the musician sitting on a balcony while reflecting on the importance of time.
A montage of scenes from his native Colombia plays as he speaks about how each passing moment provides an opportunity to dream, live, and be grateful.

The scene then shifts, showing clips of people from all walks of life donning the watch: a dancer, a biker, a tattoo artist, and even a cab driver.
Eventually, the spot ends with J Balvin's words of wisdom: "The most important is not how much time we have, but how we make it matter."
Last October, Adidas teamed up with Bad Bunny and Lionel Messi to launch a major collection.
