Electric vehicle (EV) brand Citroën just launched a brand-new spot that takes inspiration from the time of the French Revolution and Netflix's popular series "Bridgerton."
In the 80-second spot "The Revolution Has Begun," the wealthy elites enjoy an afternoon garden party ala Bridgerton as they eat pastel-colored cakes and play paddle ball.
However, a group of hijackers sneak in and infiltrate one of their buildings, heading straight for the garage where Citroën ë-C3 vehicles are parked.

Set to the sounds of David Bowie’s "Suffragette City," an epic chase scene then ensues as the group escapes the scene using the cars, with the party visitors going after them on their horses to keep the cars from causing more destruction than they already had.
"Electric is no longer for the elite. The revolution has begun," the screen writes, as the commercial champions the newest 100% electric model from Citroën that is more affordable than others.
Breaking Boundaries
EV owners spend a lot less in the long run by saving on fuel costs, but buying one is expensive, making it gain a reputation as a car that only the rich can afford.
Citroën, together with BETC Paris and director Fredrik Bond, is breaking this notion by making its ë-C3 more affordable for everyone at only €23,300 (about $25,300) or €99 (about $108) per month.
Through the spot, it hopes to start a "revolution" within the market, shifting the paradigm and breaking the stigma that EVs are only for the rich.

“The new ë-C3 is a revolutionary product, offering accessible, high quality, electric mobility for everyone, for the first time. It is a product that deserved a catchy, impactful, and visually stunning campaign, adorned with a fantastic soundtrack," Citroën Marketing and Communications SVP Federico Goyret said in a press release.
In "the most cinematic way possible," BETC Paris and Bond emphasized that driving an EV is no longer limited to the elites.
With a top advertising agency at the helm, a highly visual and large-scale commercial like this is easy to accomplish.
EVs can now be enjoyed by a wider car-driving audience in Europe without compromising on comfort through the ë-C3.
