Luxury brand Chanel just launched a captivating black-and-white advert made with critically acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, and starring Hollywood actor Timotheé Chalamet.
The 90-second film, titled after one of its signature fragrances "Bleu de Chanel," sees the charismatic star prance his way through the hectic press tour schedule of his new film.

However, throughout his interviews and meetings, he sees visions of his co-star, acted by "Bottoms" actress Havana Rose Liu, surrounded by an aura of blue.
During one of his interviews on a late-night talk show, a glowing Liu hands him an envelope — just like how she did in their film — much to Chalamet's surprise.
"So, when you're inside a role, do you destroy who you are?" the talk show host asks him.
The spot ends with a moment of clarity for the "Willy Wonka" star.
"No, no, you reach into yourself, you find yourself. And only after that are you free to be who you are," he responds, embodying the self-expressive essence of the Bleu de Chanel.
Speaking on the theme of the film, Scorsese says it pictures “the conflict between celebrity and staying true to being an artist,” and not allowing fame to alter one's perception of reality.
Months In the Making
Filmed in 2023 in New York, the latest from the luxury brand generated a lot of hype and was frequently teased by both Scorsese and Chalamet.
After paparazzi footage taken during their filming went viral, the Hollywood star confirmed with Vogue that he would be the new fragrance ambassador for Bleu de Chanel.

Notably, he also said that the clip taken would be part of his upcoming short film with the "Irishman" director.
Known for its masculine and aromatic scent, the Bleu de Chanel was composed by the legendary perfumer Jacques Polge.
Now, it's supervised by his son Olivier Polge, who also works as the company's in-house perfumer-creator.
"Blue de Chanel has just the right amount of conviction and intensity to represent a man who refuses to be typecast. A man who dismisses facades and who is not afraid to let vulnerability show through his tough, disarming exterior," Polge shared.
