ASICS has unveiled a meditative brand campaign set in the leading sportswear giant's native Japan.
The effort, helmed by creative agency AGIT8, is inspired by the brand's core philosophy: "a sound mind, in a sound body."
A spot aptly titled "Move your body, move your mind" is a refreshing alternative to the "toxic, win-at-all-costs" nature of modern sports marketing.
Its central theme, movement, is celebrated as an important part of life that can bring joy, mental clarity, and emotional balance. With global stress levels on the rise, the brand presents a positive and inclusive message to audiences worldwide.
In a statement, AGIT8 Executive Creative Director Gerry Human highlighted how the ad stands apart from its competitors.
"Most sports brands make you feel like you need to run a marathon or break a record to be a winner. But this campaign flips that idea on its head."
"Shot in the vibrant streets of Tokyo and capturing moments of personal serenity in busy urban landscapes, we show that movement is a triumph in itself.
The campaign coincides with the release of a new series of products that prioritize comfort, sustainability, and mindful design.

Following this new design philosophy, ASICS aims to give all athletes the tools to help them thrive both physically and mentally.
The international campaign is set to run across digital, social media, TV, and print in the U.K.
Body and Mind
The full one-minute ad opens on a quiet street in Tokyo at dawn.
A woman jogs down the street with a smile on her face, as a voice narrates: "You don't need headphones to cancel the noise, or a filter to see the world in a better light."
A few establishing shots emphasize her shoes, the new ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 27.

As she runs through the city, it comes alive with people moving their bodies in different ways: dancing, riding a bike, using an exercise machine, or playing a game of tennis.
The narrator closes the spot with a reassuring message: "You don't need to go far to leave it all behind. All you need to do is move."
It ends with a harmonious shot of the runner with Mt. Fuji in the background.
Last October, ASICS launched another mindful spot starring "Succession" star Brian Cox, coinciding with World Mental Health Day.
