Insurance company Aviva just launched a new spot targeting business owners struggling to solve financial puzzles.
Helmed by creative agency adam&eveDDB, the spot follows the lives of a restaurant owner and his daughter who use Aviva to navigate financial obstacles and solve "puzzles," helping them keep their finances intact and even reach milestones.
The commercial, which debuted on TVs across the U.K. yesterday, comes as part of the brand's ongoing "Make It Click" campaign launched in 2022, which aims to make insurance and finances simpler for consumers.
In a statement, Aviva Group Brand and Sponsorship Director Phoebe Barter said the insurance brand has the ability to play a genuine and emotional role in people's lives "in a way that no other financial services company can," while continuing to "make it click" when it comes to the complex world of finances.
The latest efforts from the brand and agency use emotive and thought-provoking brand storytelling to show Aviva's goal to uplift the lives of its customers.
The new spot also serves as a shift in the insurance company's brand marketing strategy, launching it ahead of time instead of at the end of December.
Financial Puzzles Solved
The short advert starts by introducing viewers to Gino, who owns a restaurant, and his daughter, who helps him with the business.
Suddenly, they experience a leak in the kitchen and the brickfire oven spins around like a puzzle.
Gina heads to her Aviva mobile app and quickly "solves" the puzzle, bringing the oven back to normal, just like a broken puzzle.
Not long after, Gina notices a tree branch fall on their car parked outside the restaurant, causing the vehicle to break into several block-like puzzle pieces.
Again, she uses Aviva to quickly repair the car, to the amazement of her dad.
Eventually, Gina brings up the idea of putting up an outdoor seating area and brings it to fruition — made possible by the investments she made using Aviva.
"From insurance to wealth and retirement. We can help solve life's financial puzzles. Making it click, it takes Aviva," the narrator says, as the spot ends.
Previously, Farmers Insurance teamed up with actor J.K. Simmons and the "Red One" film for a new holiday campaign.
