Argos, T&Pm Launch Holiday Spot Starring Connie the Doll & Trevor the Dinosaur

Leading U.K. digital retailer Argos unveiled its latest holiday campaign starring two of its iconic toy mascots: Connie the Doll and Trevor the Dinosaur.

Made together with full-service creative agency T&Pm, the efforts are marked by an animated spot where Trevor lives out his rockstar dreams and covers T-Rex's hit song "20th Century Boy" in front of a packed crowd of Connie dolls. 

With captivating imagery and grand visuals, the brand hopes to show its viewers how it can make dreams come true this holiday season. 

The holiday campaign builds on its "There's More to Argos" brand platform launched in 2023 to showcase its wide product range.

Argos Head of Campaigns Laura Boothby shares that the brand's customers love Trevor and Connie, so they were thrilled to bring them back again to "spread some festive fun and magic in such an energetic and upbeat way." 

"At Argos, whatever your loved ones are dreaming of this Christmas, we’ve got it covered. Whether it’s the latest and best in sound and tech, or the top toys of the season," Boothby added.

By bringing back its iconic characters, Argos' brand marketing strategy isn't only a piece of satisfying fan service, but it's also a great reminder that it knows how to engage its audiences in a meaningful way.

Trevor's Rockstar Dreams

Animated by ETC with a score from David Kosten, the 40-second "Rockstar" spot kickstarts with Trevor on top of a cliff, holding his sleek red electric guitar, and ready to rock it out as the audience chants his name. 

He begins to play T.Rex's iconic guitar riff, dancing around on a mountain of Marshall speakers.

The audience, consisting of multiple Connies, enjoys the show as he begins to shred. 

Eventually, the dinosaur is woken up from his fantasies by Connie, who hands him a gift. 

To his surprise, Trevor receives the same Marshall speakers from his dream, playing the T.Rex track once more. 

"Whatever they're dreaming of, there's more to Argos," the narrator shares as the spot ends. 

Previously, T&Pm worked together with M&M's and Amazon's "Red One" film for an epic campaign
