Launched in 2019 by Kat Hantas, Nicole Hantas-Emanuel, and Sarika Singh, 21SEEDS stood out with clean, naturally flavored spirits.
In just two years, the brand grew from under 2,000 cases to over 66,000 by 2021, a jump that caught the attention of Diageo, which acquired it in 2022.
That level of growth gave 21SEEDS the kind of credibility few early-stage spirits brands reach before a major buyout.
Megan Green, Brand Manager of 21SEEDS, told DesignRush the new campaign reflects what makes the product stand out:
“We saw an opportunity to create a new brand platform that celebrates what sets us apart, which is our vibrant, award-winning flavors that make crafting delicious, high-quality cocktails simple and enjoyable.
‘Flavor, For Real’ captures our essence as a flavor-driven, tequila infused with the bold, authentic taste of the juice of real fruit.”
Signature flavors like Cucumber Jalapeño, Grapefruit Hibiscus, and Valencia Orange cut the need for mixers without sacrificing taste.
Tequila Meets Poppi Simplicity
To bring this campaign into retail spaces, 21SEEDS has teamed up with soda company Poppi to launch a series of in-store activations.
The collaboration introduces a line of two-ingredient margaritas using Poppi sodas and 21SEEDS tequila.
Each pairing was chosen to match flavor profiles.
The drinks are designed to be simple, fast, and flavorful, with no bar tools or syrups needed.
Each calls for just tequila, Poppi, a squeeze of lime, and a salted rim.
The result is a set of cocktails that are easy to make but still feel thoughtful:
Cucumber Jalapeño × Lemon Lime
Zesty lemon lime meets cool cucumber and a kick of jalapeño in a sparkling burst of refreshment.

The campaign was developed in partnership with agency GALE and is now live across Meta, YouTube, and Instagram, along with in-store displays and promotional content.
This is the brand’s first major refresh since its acquisition, staying true to its original no-compromise flavor mission.
The Poppi partnership aligns 21SEEDS with a health-conscious, Gen Z–oriented brand that already resonates in digital-first spaces.
By pairing with a soda known for functional ingredients and viral appeal, 21SEEDS positions itself where younger consumers are discovering lifestyle-driven beverage choices.
Our Take: Is This Just Another Tequila Rebrand?
I don’t think so.
What stands out to me is how 21SEEDS avoids the surface-level polish that defines so many rebrands and instead focuses on product honesty.
I see a brand that knows its audience wants real ingredients and cocktails that are easy without feeling lazy.
If I were advising a CMO, I’d say this is how you turn functional benefits into lasting brand equity.
It proves you can lead with simplicity without looking like you're cutting corners.
