George Clooney Stars In Nespresso's New Spot

Coffee capsule brand Nespresso has once again enlisted American actor George Clooney to star in its latest spot - this time, to celebrate the launch of its first home-compostable, paper-based coffee capsules.

In "Unforgettable taste, now on paper," Clooney is joined by French actor Jean Dujardin and actress Camille Cottin, as the bunch have a chance meeting inside an elevator before a game of espionage ensues.

"New capsules. 100% compostable," the Ocean's Eleven star tells Cottin as he boasts about Nespresso's new product in his paper bag.

An elderly woman's dogs run into the hallway just as the elevator opens, causing Clooney and Dujardin to play hero and chase after her pets. Clooney hands his Nespresso bag to Cottin as she holds the elevator open.

When Clooney and Dujardin reach their destination, the two prepare for coffee. However, to their surprise, only one capsule remains in the paper bag - realizing that Cottin had taken the rest of the capsules during their encounter. 

Cottin enjoys her cup of Nespresso with the elderly woman before knocking on Clooney's door to return the rest of the capsules.

"Don't forget to compost it," the Stillwater actress tells Clooney as the commercial closes.

Nespresso Chief Brand Officer Melanie Brinbaum shared that the brand continues to push boundaries with the launch of its new capsule collection, and the milestone needed to be marked with the support of Clooney, Dujardin, and Cottin, who starred in previous Nespresso spots. 

"This innovation is the first step in our journey to compostable, as we continue to offer sustainable choices to our customers, and this TV commercial demonstrates just that. Our Paper Collection is a new sustainable choice for coffee lovers, without compromising on the coffee quality that our customers expect from us," Brinbaum explained in a press release.

Last year, Nespresso also launched a campaign featuring the three actors. As Clooney and Dujardin's last Nespresso capsule flies out the window and into Cottin's apartment, the two band together to reclaim the coffee that is rightfully theirs.
