Luxury car brand Porsche has teamed up with Japanese baseball pitcher Shohei Ohtani for a new campaign that celebrates both the brand and the athlete's achievements.
Helmed by agency M&C Saatchi, the "Driven by Dreams" campaign spotlights Ohtani's momentous feat of being the first player to get 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in one season — an achievement that perfectly aligns with Porsche's brand identity and legacy of excellence.
The campaign is marked by a one-minute spot that takes place in both Los Angeles and Tokyo, as the narrator praises Ohtani's journey as a renowned baseball player.

"Shohei Ohtani embodies the spirit of relentless pursuit and innovation. His historic 50/50 record is a testament to what's possible when dreams drive us forward, which is the very essence of Porsche and myself as a German immigrant," he explained.
Beyond a celebration of the L.A. Dodgers' 50/50 achievement, the latest campaign also mirrors Porsche's accomplishments as a leading car brand, surpassing its goals as a pioneer in automotive innovation.
Overall, the telling of Ohtani and Porsche's stories hope to show viewers that with sheer passion and dedication, anything is possible.
In this campaign, Porsche's brand marketing strategy reinforces its status as an automotive industry powerhouse. The success of athletes like Ohtani becomes the perfect analogy for the brand's achievements.
